Legends of Michiana: Pat Moody Aired: Thursday, September 26 WNIT took viewers were given an inside look at the life of popular radio host and community leader, Pat Moody who was a man of the people of southwestern Michigan while controlling the airwaves for over 46 years. WNIT launched the “PBS Kids 24/7 Channel on WNIT on June 24th giving children in the Michiana area free, 24/7 educaonal programming to help combat the high percentage of children that do not have access to high-quality preschool educaon. WNIT uses students, volunteers and interns from Ivy Tech, Notre Dame, Bethel College, IU- Each June WNIT hosts over South Bend and other 500 kids and their families Michiana educaonal at the annual “WNIT Kids instuons teaching them Club Day in the Park” for a real-life broadcast skills. day of games, food, fun and acvies!

In the past year, WNIT has provided use of its “Community Room” to over 2,500 individuals for various seminars, luncheons and events. WNIT Prides Itself on Civic Engagement

Connecng Michiana’s cizens to their government is a primary mission of WNIT. From the local level to the federal, WNIT has provided a forum where elected officials can go beyond sound bites in discussing policy and cizens can express their concerns directly to their representaves.

WNIT is contracted by St. Joseph County and the cies of South Bend and Mishawaka to produce Michiana Access Television on Comcast Cable. In this venture, WNIT provides the facilies and personnel needed for private individuals to broadcast, at no charge, their own public access television shows.
