Communicator 5 Accessible Apps - Accessible Facebook Messenger: Quick Guide

This document provides instructions on how to use Accessible Facebook Messenger within the Communicator 5 Accessible Apps collection to stay connected with family and friends including making video calls.

Requirements: To use Accessible Facebook Messenger, a Facebook account is required. If a user has not logged in with Accessible Facebook previously, make sure to have Facebook login credentials available. An unlocked device with access to the Internet is also required.

Launch Accessible Facebook Messenger

Launch Communicator 5

On Communicator 5 Home Page, select Accessible Facebook Messenger to launch it

Accessible Facebook Messenger home control toolbar appears on the left

Open Facebook Messenger Home Page

• If logged into Accessible Facebook previously, Facebook Messenger Home Page shows the personalized chats • If previously not logged into Accessible Facebook or Accessible Facebook Messenger, use the Login and Info button below to log in

After selecting Login and Info on the home control toolbar, the left toolbar provides buttons for logging in, logging out and more.

Manage Contacts, Messages and Calls

After launching Accessible Facebook Messenger and login, the control toolbar provides buttons for all the functionality of Facebook Messenger in an easy and more accessible way.

Main Control Toolbar

Search for a person on Facebook to Provide additional control options start a chat Refer to Menu Toolbar below for details

View and manage the selected chat Send a message, an emoji, a picture Refer to Chat View Toolbar below for details etc. to the selected contact

Navigate to the contact above the Navigate to the contact below the selected contact selected contact

Show contacts list in a table for browsing and selecting a contact. More and Back buttons are provided for navigating through multiple screens

Scroll several messages up in the Scroll several messages down in the selected chat selected chat

Direct the device read the name of Initiate an audio or video call with the selected contact aloud the selected contact

Return to the previous toolbar

Mute the device volume or change the volume level

Toggle between enlarged and regular text size (The percentage of text enlargement can be changed in Additional Options.)

Toggle auto-read on and off

Chat View Toolbar

Jump to the last message in the Return to the previous toolbar selected chat

Open the selected message in a view that is based on the message content (web link, video, etc.)

Navigate to the message above the Navigate to the message below the selected message selected message
