The Nittany Lions and Sun Devils will meet in sold out Rec Hall on Friday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. in a dual that will air live nationally on ESPN2. Arizona State has made a trip to Happy Valley, however, competing in the BJC in the National Duals. All rankings listed are InterMat/InterMat TPI as of Dec. 11. Penn State is coming off a pair of dual victories two weekends ago. The Nittany Lions won nine of ten bouts in a 42-3 win at Bucknell on Nov. 30, the first-ever trip for Penn State at Lewisburg. The dual was wrestled in front of a Bucknell wrestling-record crowd of 4.279, the third-largest in Stojka Pavilion history. Two days later, the Nittany Lions shut-out No. 10 Lehigh 42-0, winning all ten bouts against the short-handed Mountain Hawks in front of yet another Rec Hall sellout crowd. Penn State got ranked wins from Mark Hall at 174, Bo Nickal at 197 and Anthony Cassar at 285. The Nittany Lions sport a balanced and talented line-up: Sophomore Devin Schnupp is 4-3 at 125, having won his last two dual outings.

Burroughs lost to Denis Tsargush (Russia) Contributing Editor 2-9 and Dlagnev lost to Taha Akgul (Turkey) 2-4 in their semi-final matches.     Los Angeles Star Aaron Pico To Compete for Team USA at Wrestling World Cup Young standout will wrestle for Team USA at the Forum on June 11-12 LOS ANGELES (May 4, 2016) – One of the world’s top young wrestling stars, 19-year-old Aaron Pico (Whittier, Calif./Titan Mercury WC), will compete in his native Southern California for the United States at the 2016 Men’s Freestyle Wrestling World Cup at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., June 11-12. The Freestyle Wrestling World Cup is one of the most important international events each year. Alongside Pico, members of the U.S. Olympic freestyle team will be on the U.S., in their final competition before heading to the Rio Olympic Games. “I am super excited to be competing on the World Cup team. Anytime you can represent your country internationally is an honor,” said Pico. “The fact that this will be held in the USA is awesome. I will be part of a great team which will have members of the Olympic Team on it. I am going to focus on getting ready for the World Cup and putting on a great show.” The World Cup is the annual international dual meet championships, as the eight best men’s freestyle teams will compete against each other. At the 2016 World Cup, the United States will be up against (alphabetically): Azerbaijan, Georgia, India, Iran, Mongolia, Russia and Turkey. Pico has been one of the nation’s best young stars, winning a Cadet World title in 2013, a Junior World silver medal in 2014 and a Junior World bronze medal in 2015.
