Boyd, the 40th Cowboy in program history to reach to century mark, has now tallied bonus points in four of his last five dual starts for the Pokes. Facing a tough test against eighth-ranked Nate Rotert, redshirt sophomore Preston Weigel dropped a 3-1 match in sudden victory Sunday. Colville, wrestled their first match in 1915 against the University of Texas. It was a rough start for 5. USC Men's Tennis 20 OSU as it fell to the Longhorns in its lone dual of the season. But the Cowboys pulled through and went on to win 34 NCAA team North Carolina Women's Soccer 20 championships (the most by any school in any sport), 142 individual champions and 462 All-Americans. Overall, the Cowboys hold an incredibly impressive 1,106-129-23 overall record.

NO OFF-SEASON The 2018-19 college wrestling season might have ended in March, but several Cowboys competed as late as June with others wrestling through the summer and into the beginning of the fall semester. NCAA INDIVIDUAL On June 1, Nic Piccininni, Jacob Fontanez, Kaden Gfeller, Kaid Brock, Tristan Moran, Boo Lewallen, Chander Rogers, Joe WRESTLING CHAMPIONS Smith and Cornelius Putnam traveled to Akron, Ohio, to contend for a spot on the United States U23 Freestyle World Team. Redshirt freshman Bear Hughes clinched a spot on the Junior Greco-Roman World Team. The Cowboy advanced to the finals 1. Oklahoma State 142 following winning a U.S. Open title in Las Vegas. He went on to sweep the finals in Indianapolis this summer. 2. Iowa 81 Austin Harris also made a run at the Open, claiming a 97 kg Junior Greco title at the UWW freestyle tournament in April. He 3. Iowa State 69 finished eighth at the 2017 Junior Nationals to earn All-America Status. The Rosebur, Ore., native went to Fortaleza Brazil, in 4. He fell at FinalX to World Bronze Medalist but moved on to defeat Arizona State's Brandon Courtney in a best- of-three series to earn a spot on the Junior World Team. NCAA WRESTLING The redshirt freshman travled to Trnava, Slovakia to compete for his second-consecutive World Title, but was upset in the ALL-AMERICANS semifinals. The Cowboy fought back and collected a third-place finish, marking his third bronze finish at world competition. COAST-TO-COAST COWBOYS 1. Oklahoma State 462 The 2018-19 Cowboys roster features 19 native Oklahomans, but the remaining 17 wrestlers come to Oklahoma State from 13 2. Penn State 217 OKLAHOMA STATE IS "WRESTLING U" 6. Michigan 194 In 2016, Dan Lobdell and Andrew Spey of FloWrestling highlighted the best schools at each weight class over the past 15 years. The 10-part series breaks down each weight class using an algorithm that factors in a school's NCAA qualifiers, All- Americans and national champions over that time span to name one school the best at each class. Oklahoma State took top honors in four weight classes (133, 149, 165 and 174), while finishing second at heavyweight. Not only were the Cowboys one of two schools to take multiple weight classes, but OSU was the only program to take more than two.

ALL IN THE FAMILY Like most years, this season’s squad features a number of family ties within Cowboy wrestling Coach John Smith promoted his nephew Chris Perry from the volunteer assistant position more than a year ago to a member of the full-time coaching staff. Smith's son and two-time All-American Joe, returns to the mat in 2018-19 after a redshirt year. Redshirt sophomore Andrew Marsden's brothers Alex and Austin both wrestled for OSU through 2016. Chandler Rogers older brother Jordan was a Cowboy wrestler from 2012-2017. Redshirt sophomore Wyatt Sheets' father, Mike, was a four-time All-American and two-time NCAA Champion during his time as a Cowboy, while freshman Daton Fix, Wes Ahrberg and Zalin Edwards' fathers both competed for the Cowboys.

CHAMPS IN THE CLASSROOM Seven members of the Oklahoma State wrestling team earned spots on the Academic All-Big 12 team, and two earned NWCA All-Academic status. Senior Dean Heil earned first team honors, as Jonce Blaylock, Gary Wayne Harding and Andrew Marsden. Geo Martinez, Donald Cannon and Hestin Lamons received second team honors.Blaylock was honored for his second consecutive season Heil and Blaylock were also named to the NWCA All-Academic team, with Heil receiving recognition for the fourth time in his Cowboy career.

SMITH SIGNS SEVEN TO NLI Oklahoma State wrestling head coach John Smith announced the signing of seven student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Nov. 15. Brevin Balmeceda, Cade Lindsey, Daniel Manibog, Chance McLane, Colt Newton, Triston Wills and Reece Witcraft will join the Cowboys in the fall of 2018. Balmeceda is Flo's No. 6 ranked high school wrestler in the country at 152 pounds and Intermat's No. 3. He boasts two Florida state titles to date. The Cowboy commit won the 2017 Super 32 and is a three-time NHSCA National Tournament champion. He notched a fourth-place finish at Super 32 this year. Balmeceda comes to Oklahoma from South Dade High School where he wrestles for his father. The 2019 Cowboy class also includes Katy, Texas', Daniel Manibog who comes in at No. 9 in Flo's 145-pound rankings. He's a two-time Texas state champion and knocked off multiple top-ranked wrestlers at Fargo this summer to finish fourth. Flo's No. 19 2018 FINAL BIG 12 wrestler at 132, Reece Witcraft will also join the Cowboys in 2019. McLane comes to OSU from Bozeman Montana with two state titles under his belt and a second-place finish at the USA World DUAL RECORDS Greco-Roman Team Trials at 65 kg. McLane competed alongside fellow Cowboy signee Balmeceda at Super 32 this fall. Derby High School teammates Triston Wills and Cade Lindsey are set to join the Cowboys following their senior seasons. School Overall Big 12 Lindsey is a three-time, top-three finisher in Kansas, and Wills took home top honors last season when he knocked off current Air Force 8-5 3-4 Cowboy Jalin Harper in the 160-pound Kansas state finals. Oklahoma native Colt Newton also signed this week. He is a three-time state finalist and dropped a finals bout to Witcraft in 2018 after defeating him in the regular season. Fresno State 4-16 1-5 COACHED BY THE BEST Iowa State 8-10 3-6 When wrestlers come to compete at Oklahoma State, they are coached by the best. John Smith holds six world championships North Dakota State 7-10 1-7 and two Olympic gold medals. 2017-18 (R-Junior Season) ►Went 25-4 on the season and 14-1 in duals for the Cowboys in his first season starting at heavyweight. ►Won his first Big 12 Championship, defeating Fresno State's AJ Nevills in the finals. ►Led the Pokes in major decisions with 11 and in takedowns with 55 on the year. ►Racked up a pair of top-20 wins at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic, defeating No. 20 Jordan Wood (Lehigh) and majoring No. 9 Thomas Haines (Lock Haven) on his way to a second-place finish. ►Went 4-0 to claim the OCU Open heavyweight title. ►Garnered the No. 9 seed at the NCAA Champion- ships and advanced to the round of 16 before falling to Olympic gold medalist and national champion Kyle Snyder.

2016-17 (R-Sophomore Season) ►Went 18-9 overall competing at both 197 pounds and heavyweight. ►Made six dual starts for the Pokes. ►Took home the title at the Reno Tournament of Champions, defeating Cal Poly’s JT Goodwin in the finals. ► Finished fourth at the Southern Scuffle where he recorded his lone ranked win on the season with a 3-1 win over No. 15 Frank Mattiace of Penn. ►Posted his first dual win as a Cowboy in a 1-0 win over Dylan Reynolds of Edinboro.

At Nebraska ►Went 8-3, and made two dual appearances at 197 pounds with two technical falls.
