Area Summary Mellis is a village and civil parish in Mid that sits around 3 miles west of Eye and 5 miles south of Diss. The parish is bisected by the Norwich to London train line and bordered by the A143 and A140. The village is dominated by Mellis Common which is said to be the largest unfenced piece of common land in the country. The area is managed by and is home to a range of flora and fauna.
