BIRTHDAY BASH AT BURSLEDON

Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Open Spaces Society at this special day hosted by the Bursledon Rights of Way & Amenities Preservation Group

at St Paul’s Church, Oak Road, Bursledon, , SO31 8DT

on Saturday 19 September 2015 11 for 11.30 am – 4 pm

11.00 am Refreshments

11.30 am Welcome by the Mayor of Talk: The Open Spaces Society at 150

12.30 pm Buffet lunch

13.30 pm A choice of activities:

Heritage walks 1. Bursledon rural rights of way 2. Conservation area and Hamble River

or

Heritage Minibus Tour* Visit Bursledon landmarks, windmill, village green, Dodwell Pond, Country Park, D Day memorial mausoleum, 12th century St Leonard’s Church

15.30 pm Afternoon tea

16.00 pm Conclusion

There will be exhibitions, displays, a book stall and raffle at St Paul’s Church during the day.

*Heritage minibus tour to include members with mobility problems

By road:

Easily accessible from London, the South East and the West Country via the M3 and M27. Exit at junction 8 of M27 for Bursledon. There is plenty of free parking at the venue.

By rail: Bursledon station is on the main line from Southampton to /Chichester. Trains run hourly. Members can be picked up and taken back to the station on request. There is also a footpath to the venue and information on this can be provided on request.

By bus: First bus services run near to the venue from Southampton and /Gosport.
