Chinese and Western Combinations Pisces (Rabbit) Month Chinese and Western Combinations Pisces (Rabbit) Month Combination with Dog Year: "Faith" Neptune, Water, Mutable "Concerned" Yin-Positive Metal Characteristics: Tastelessness, Morality, Indecision, Awareness, Spirituality, Respectability, Rage, Intelligence, Heroism, Duty, Self- Righteousness, Perception, Compatibility, Smugness, Creativity, Fearfulness, Lack of Will, Criticism, Unsociability, Uneasiness The Pisces is the spiritual side of this individual. They are easily hurt and often this makes them resentful. In the decision making department they are wishy-washy and have difficulty making choices. The Dog side of this complex individual is constant. Dogs are loyal and faithful. The Pisces-Dog is a highly sensitive individual. They happen to possess a little more of this quality than the average Pisces. It is best to tip- toe around them and take care of them gently. There is a bit of a difference in the Pisces-Dog’s sensitive side in that they do not like to be doubted or disagreed with. They are lacking somewhat in the area of will power, but have a dedicated mind. The Pisces side is accessible but porous. They are dedicated to understanding the world better and that often comes from personal observation. Many Pisces-Dogs aspire to be heroes and accomplish great feats of daring. They do share some traits that are akin to the Pisces though. It is possible for Dogs to be self-doubting and, in the Zodiac sense, they can be skeptical. They can even hold forth in a kind of sanctimonious manner. Put this in a pot and stir it up and the result is an anxious person who also is sardonic. They can also be seen as pompous. They can be difficult to be around because they are so crotchety. They love to criticize things and worry about it after they have. Making friends is a challenge for this individual for these very reasons. It takes a rather special person to hang out with the Pisces-Dog because they are always on the defensive. Dogs are devoted, loyal and trustworthy. Dogs are dutiful and respectable. The Pisces-Dog combination is just totally bewildered by new people who enter their comfort zone. Romance: This combination needs a lot of attention especially in terms of reassurance. They do not like to attempt new projects and need to be urged rather strongly to do them. They need a lot of affection and care because they lack in self- assurance. Good natured tolerance is necessary for those who are married to a Pisces-Dog because they are so high strung and insecure. The Pisces-Dog enjoys the security that marriage provides. They are good and loving partners who tend to remain faithful. They also want their partner to be of high quality and make sure they choose nothing but the best. Relationships: Trailing behind for compatibility in this combination and not suggested as mates are Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius-Dragons. Also out are Rams and Roosters from the same signs. Topping the list of recommended romances are Taurus, Libra and Capricorn-Tigers. Additional fine selections can be found among Scorpio and Capricorn-Rabbits. The good news continues with Scorpio-Horses. Family Life: This combination makes an excellent mom or dad. They care deeply about their children. The Pisces-Dog supports and, indeed, pushes their children to do well at school. They also promote extra-curricular activities. Personal environment is of little consequence to Pisces-Dogs. They are comfortable almost anyplace as long as things are reasonably agreeable. They are not much interested in looking at home decorating magazines or worrying about whether the curtains match the rug. The do tend to take good care of those things that they have, but have no need for lavishness. Likelihood: This combination makes a good worker who is steady and reliable. They are prone to having a sharp tongue, but they are never mean or cruel. The Pisces- Dog is a multi-talented individual. They have a talent for almost anything. They are not only idea people themselves, but they are capable of taking other people’s ideas and expanding them into a new project. They can do this quickly because they are sharp intellectually. They are also good humored. All of this sounds terrific and is great. There is a fly in the ointment, however, and that is the over-sensitive nature of the Pisces-Dog. If they are criticized, rejected or offended, they collapse into a pile of jelly. Famous Pisces/Dogs: Victor Hugo, Jack Kerouac, David Niven, Sandy Duncan, Liza Minnelli. .

Dreshkamsha: "One third of a Rashi is called Dreshkamsha. These are totally 36, counted from Mesha, repeating thrice at the rate of 12 per round. The 1st, 5th and the 9th Rashi from a Rashi are its three Dreshkhamsha and are, respectively, lorded by 1. Narada, 2. Agasthya 3. Durvasha." The meaning of the word DRESH – KANA DRESH mens seeing or visualizing objects which are apparent or hidden (obscure) in nature. KANA means corner or trine (Trikona). Therefore, Dreshkana represents the varga (division) where the signs, trine to each other, convey apparent as well as hidden personality and nature (swaroopa) of the native. Quotes From: David Frawley. the Astrology of the Seers, p. 186: "In this harmonic the first 1/3 or ten degrees 00° 00'-10° 00' of any sign ruled by itself. The middle 1/3,10° 00'-20° 00', is ruled by the subsequent sign of the same element. The last 1/3, 20° 00'-30° 00', is ruled by the final sign of the same element. For example, the first 1/3 of Sagittarius is in the harmonic third of Sagittarius, the second 1/3 in the harmonic third of Aries, and the last 1/3 in the harmonic third of Leo. Hence, if Saturn is located in a birth chart at 15° 20' Sagittarius, it would be in the harmonic third of Aries.

  • Drekkana Varga by Ernst Wilhelm
Drekkana Varga By Ernst Wilhelm www.astrology-videos.com “Happiness, etc. with relations should be known from Drekkana.” -Sanketi Nidhi “A planet in its own decanate confers virtues".” -Saravali Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra states that the Drekkana indicates happiness with siblings, though Sanketi Nidhi expands upon this idea to include happiness with all relations. An important point, the Drekkana indicates the happiness that the native has with siblings/relations, not the life of the siblings. The life of the siblings is indicated by the relevant Bhava cusp that represents the sibling (3rd for younger, 11th for elder) and that Bhava cusp needs to be read in all Vargas – that is how the life of the siblings is to be read. What the Drekkana itself represents is the capacity that we have to work with all our relations towards mutually fulfilling goals and thus it indicates our happiness with our relations. Afflicted Bhavas and afflicted lords indicate those people in our live with whom we work less effectively; while strong Bhavas and lords in good Lajjitaadi Avasthas indicate those people with whom we work very effectively. Individuals with a good Drekkana are socially able, while those with troubled Drekkanas are socially unable. Remember that the 3rd Bhava, for which the Drekkana is the important Varga, represents an individual’s social ability. The social ability represented by the Drekkana and by the 3rd Bhava is initially developed through the association with siblings, and so ability with siblings is an important aspect of the Drekkana, but the Drekkana is not limited to our social ability with just siblings, it reflects our social ability with everyone that we come across.

Her Story Andromeda was a princess from a region in Africa. Her parents were rulers, her mother was Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia believed that she was so beautiful, even more beautiful than all of the sea nymphs around. This upset Poseidon, the ruler of the sea. He sent a giant sea monster named Cetus to destroy the region where Andromeda’s parents ruled. They were promised to have their region spared if they sacrificed Andromeda, their daughter. They chained Andromeda to a rock and there she stayed until she was rescued. Perseus who was riding his horse, Pegasus, was flying high in the skies above and swooped down to save Andromeda, in return turning Cetus into stone. YOU SHOULD KNOW • Andromeda’s stars aren’t very bright. • Andromeda contains the Andromeda Galaxy, it’s very similar to the Milk Way Galaxy. • It’s a spiral galaxy that contains over 200 billion stars, as well as a double star. • The Star Zodiac of Antiquity
The Star Zodiac of Antiquity Nick Kollerstrom In the early third century AD, two zodiac systems converged. 1 One was the ancient star-zodiac derived from the constellations, while the other was the tropical zodiac, with its beginning at 0 0 Aries firmly anchored to the Vernal Point, the Sun’s position at the Spring Equinox. It will be argued here that this latter, tropical, system had not, in the third century, come to be accepted by astrologers, but that it was to gradually come into use amongst astrologers as the earlier, sidereal system sank into a deep oblivion, at least in the West, from which it did not re-emerge until rediscovered late in the nineteenth century. It remains far from easy to ascertain which were the primary reference stars which defined the sidereal zodiac’s position, and there may have been different views on this, amongst the several cultures that adopted it. 2 The term ‘sidereal’ derives from the Greek sidera, a star, and the terms ‘sidereal’- and ‘star’- zodiac will here have the same meaning, as alluding to a division of the ecliptic into twelve equal sectors. The term ‘zodiac’ will here be used in the sense of these twelve equal divisions of the ecliptic, and will not allude to the unequal constellations that are, as it were, behind the twelve signs. The convergence of the two celestial wheels, tropical and sidereal, meant that the Vernal Point was moving by precession from the sidereal sign of Aries into Pisces, an event comparable to the expectations of present-day astrologers of its movement into Aquarius.

Saturn is all about stability and responsibly and hard work. When it influences us astrologically, it makes us cut out the things that no longer serve us. We trim down on extravagances so we can focus on the things that are most important to us. This is why it’s associated with the word “constriction” which on the surface is a hard energy to deal with. On the contrary it is absolutely necessary to have this energy in our lives, just like we need the root chakra to ground us. The signs ruled by Saturn are CAPRICORN and Aquarius. I do think that Capricorn fits with the root chakra, but Aquarius doesn’t. Capricorn is a sign that is extremely focused and hard working and has direction and focus in life. Capricorn makes sure a foundation is set before they start building a house. In my own opinion, I think that the signs TAURUS and SCORPIO also fit under the Root Chakra umbrella.

  • The Zodiac, the Circle of Life
The Zodiac, The Circle of Life Do you check your horoscope each day in the newspaper? Do you believe what your read? If you are not sure, you share your doubts with many people over many centuries. Yet interest in astrology remains strong. The word horoscope comes from the Greek words hora for “hour” and skopas meaning “watcher” or “observer.” Thus, your horoscope is based on observation of the position of the planets and starts in relation to one another at the hour of your birth. Obviously, the daily newspaper predictions are general, for anyone born under a particular sign of the zodiac. But by the law of averages, sometimes a horoscope will have a message or advice that seems to be meant only for you. The zodiac, or circle of life (actually, in Greek, circle animals) is the basis for the horoscope. Divided into twelve parts to correspond to the twelve cycles the moon makes around the earth annually, each part of the zodiac is named for a constellation. How did the zodiac come to exist? Astrology, the interest in and observation of heavenly bodies, is very ancient. The Babylonians observed that in addition to the fixed stars in the heavens there were certain other stars that moved. They had their own names for these wanderers, but the Greeks later called them planets. They consisted of the sun and moon, plus Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, and Venus. You will notice that the last five are names of Roman gods; it was once though that the planets were gods. The early astrologers observed that the planets moved only through a narrow band of the sky, marked by twelve constellations.
