The Project is located along a 4.3-mile segment of the VWE, also known as Interstate 678, including the northbound and southbound service roads. The northern project limit is Hoover Avenue and the southern project limit is the southern end of Federal Circle at the entrance to JFK Airport. The purpose of the Project is to provide increased capacity on the VWE between the Kew Gardens Interchange RETURN OF BALLOTS (KGI) and JFK Airport to improve vehicular access to and from JFK Airport. The Project would add a fourth vehicular travel lane in each direction between JFK Airport and the KGI. The additional lane would be a managed-use lane Completed ballots may be submitted in one of the following ways: with high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) restrictions. In addition, the Project will address operational, geometric, and structural deficiencies on the VWE between the KGI and JFK Airport.     Appendix B Route Profiles LOCAL/LIMITED BUS ROUTES GREEN BUS LINES Route Q6 Sutphin Boulevard This arterial route provides local north/south service between Jamaica and John F. Kennedy International Airport connecting the neighborhoods of Jamaica and South Jamaica. The Q6 primarily utilizes Sutphin Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard to provide local corridor service to the residential neighborhoods along these two commercial arterials. It operates between the Halmar Perishable Center (US Customs, Building 77) at JFK Airport and the 165th Street Bus Terminal in Jamaica. This area of JFK lodges airport services, facilities, and cargo buildings. During peak periods additional service is provided between Sutphin Boulevard/Rockaway Boulevard in South Jamaica and the 165th Street Bus Terminal in Jamaica. Connections are made to the E,J,Z New York City Transit subway lines (Jamaica Center and Sutphin Boulevard stations) in Jamaica as well as the Long Island Railroad Jamaica Station. Transfer to other bus routes is provided at the 165th Street Bus Terminal and along Archer and Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica. The Q6 provides service to important trip generators in Jamaica such as Mary Immaculate Hospital and York College in addition to the Jamaica Arts Center, Queens Central Library, and the Queens County Courthouse. The Q6 provides service seven days a week and 24 hours a day. Headways range from 3 minutes during the weekday peak period to 20 and 35 minutes during weekday evening and overnight periods.
