Overview Itinerary Details 12 Days Tibet and Nepal Tour Overview Tour to Tibet from Nepal The world of Shangri-La-Tibet is a land of myths and mysteries. It is located in the Himalayan rain shadow area and the average elevation is more than 4000 meters. Tibet is also known as the roof of the world, which is rich in architecture, cultural heritages and historical palaces. 12 Days Tibet and Nepal Tour are designed for the travelers to visit mostly the cultural places, Monasteries, National Libraries, ethnic settlements, Tibetan festivals, Himalayan lifestyles and the central Lhasa tour through the overland trip via Kathmandu. The trip also combines the sightseeing tours in Kathmandu, Nagarkot and Bhaktapur. 12 Days Nepal and Tibet Tour Package begin from the Zhangmu, after a jeep drive from Kathmandu. It is a border between Nepal and Tibet. Then it drives through Nylam, Sigatse, Gyantse and reaches the Lhasa city. Itinerary Details Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m). Namaste and Welcome to Kathmandu. Representative of Good Vive Adventure greets you at the international airport. After breakfast, we set out for guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath temple is the pilgrimage destination of Hindu devotees, lies on the bank of Bagmati River. It is a temple of Lord Shiva. Shiva Linga and It has got a place for cremation, where the dead bodies are burnt down. A great fair held here in Mahashivaratri. Boudhanath Stupa is a Buddhist pilgrimage site and the great Stupa in the Asia, built in the 17th century. It is surrounded by the resident of Tibetan Buddhist communities. You can feel the real sense of Buddhism around here. Swoyambhunath Stupa is also known as the Monkey temple, lies on the top of the hill. The golden temple on the hill top is followed by 365 steps which is significant in Buddhism. It is a good viewpoint of the Kathmandu valley and visitors can have the spectacular sunset views from here. Then we drive back to the hotel and prepare our upcoming trip. O/N at Hotel. Day 03 : Drive from Kathmandu to Nylam (4300m). 157km After breakfast at the hotel, we drive through the Kodari highway to the Tibetan border Zangmu. The views are enticing of the landscape, River and the green hills. After completing custom procedures, we drive to the Nylam. O/N at Hotel. Day 04 : Drive to Lhatse. (4300m). 214km Today, we drive to the Lhatse from Nylam for about 7-8 hours. It is a scenic drive, which crosses the fabulous passes as Nyalm pass (3800m) and Lalung-la pass (5082m). The views are awesome from these high passes of the snow capped Himalayas, including the highest mountain in the world- Mt. Everest. With the super scenic drive, we reach at Lhatse. O/N at Hotel. Day 05 : Drive to Sigatase (3900m). 244km While driving to Sigatse from Lhatse, we visit the Sakya Monastery on the way. It is a significant monastery in Buddhism, which is an ancient Bonpo Monastery. We can see the seat of Panchen Lama on the other side of the road. Then we return to the main road and drive further to the Sigatse. The surrounding landscape is superb on the way. O/N at Hotel. Day 06 : Drive to Gyantse (3950m). 90km In the morning, we visit the Tasilumpo Monastery. It is an artistic and ancient Monastery in this region. Then we drive to Gyantse for 2 hours. After lunch, we visit the Khumbum Stupa, Phalkar Monastery that are situated on the surrounding of Gyantse. O/N at Hotel. Ltd. 12 Days Tibet and Nepal Tour After breakfast at the hotel, we drive from Gyantse to Lhasa. The drive is wonderful that crosses two scenic passes of the Korala Pass (5010m) and Kambala (4794m) along with the Lake Yamdrok Tso. Crossing the Yarlung Tsangpo, the sacred Brahmaputra River and exciting scenes, we reach at the Lhasa. O/N at Hotel. Day 08 : Lhasa Sightseeing. Visit the Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace and Tibet Museum. After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for the sightseeing tour at Lhasa City. We visit the 15th century Potala Palace. We have an opportunity to explore the secret rooms of the historical rulers as the private room of the Dalai Lama. We can see the collections of ancient materials of Buddhists. Then we visit the summer palace of Dalai Lama known as Norbulingka Palace, which incudes the greatest man made garden in Tibet. Our last visit for today is the Tibet Museum, which is known as the National Gallery in Tibet. O/N at Hotel. Day 09 : Lhasa Sightseeing: Visit the Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. It is our second day of Lhasa sightseeing. After breakfast, we go to visit the golden roof Sera Monastery, which is nicely decorated. Then we visit the 14th century Drepung Monastery, where several Buddhist monks are taking shelter. Another site to visit is the Jokhang Monastery, which is historical. After visiting around the Barkhor Bazaar, we back to our hotel and rest. O/N at Hotel. Day 10 : Fly to Kathmandu and drive to Nagarkot. After breakfast, we drive to the airport at Lhasa in the early morning. Then we fly to Kathmandu. It is a scenic Himalayan flight. After landing at Kathmandu, we drive to Nagarkot. It is a scenic drive, which offers the views of green hills, pine forest and Himalayan views. O/N at Hotel. Day 11 : Drive to Kathmandu via Bhaktapur. We wake up in the early morning today to view the breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayas. The mountain views of Everest range, Langtang, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu range are incredible. Then we return to the hotel, have breakfast and drive further to the Bhaktapur. We visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and explore the ancient Hindu temples. Then we drive back to Kathmandu and rest. The whole afternoons is for shopping and visit around the local market. This report contains program and financial details of SARD over a two-year period ending March 31, 2019. SARD works closely with all the CTA departments as well as with other CTA entities such as the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, Planning Service Commission and autonomous organizations like the Delek Hospital, Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, Federation of Tibetan Cooperatives and all the schools administrations in India and Nepal. Another aspect of SARD’s work that has scaled significantly is the portfolio of projects directly implemented or administered by SARD. These include Gangjong TibFin, Tibetan Entrepreneurship Development (TED), Women’s Empowerment Desk (WED), Tibet Corps, Blue Book and designing and facilitating the capacity building activities benefiting the project staff of CTA and other partner organizations.

This paper extracts data on popular attractions in the Tibet Autonomous Region using the HDBSCAN algorithm combined with the TF-IDF algorithm based on information on images with geotags shared by users in the Flickr image sharing site from 2005-2018. Social network analysis was used to explore the changes in the spatial and temporal characteristics of inbound tourism flows in Tibet. The results show that: (1) in terms of temporal characteristics, the number of inbound tourists shows obvious off-peak seasons, with relatively high sensitivity to the influence of economic, policy and infrastructure construction factors; (2) in terms of spatial distribution characteristics, the inbound tourism flow in Tibet shows an "axis-scattered" distribution. PANDEY Purbanchal University Nepal-China relations have been amicable since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1955. Consequently, the image of China in Nepal’s collective imagination has remained positive. This imagination reached new heights when China welcomed the promulgation of Nepal's new constitution in September 2015, while India, opposed to the promulgation, imposed an embargo. The Indian embargo not only undermined Nepali sovereignty by disapproving of the contents of the new constitution, but also compelled Nepal to think about lessening its dependency on India. The most obvious route was to expand trans-border connectivity with China. In March 2016, Nepal and China inked a ‘historic’ trade deal aiming to expand trans-border connectivity including a much-hyped trans-border railway link. Drawing broad public support, the deal had the effect of revitalising Nepali aspirations of coming out of an ‘India-locked’ trade and transit. This article examines opposing voices regarding the significance of this shift. On the one hand, there are those that embrace expansion of Nepal-China cross-border railway connectivity. Here, hopes are that railway connectivity will shift Nepal’s destiny away from dependence on India. On the other hand, many are wary that such a project is unaffordable, technically difficult, and most importantly, it plays into China’s interests in South Asian sub-regional geopolitics.

This fascinating journey takes in all the most important sites in Tibet as well as going off-the-beaten-track for a glimpse into a magical Tibet of bygone days. After an unforgettable mountain flight across the Roof of the World we have ample time to explore the sights of Lhasa before setting off in search of the remote hot springs and hidden monasteries that lie in the beautiful countryside to the north of the capital.
