Greetings from a Good Friend Dear Friends,

Greetings from the east coast. I am sure that we have never been more excited about welcoming in a new year. 2020 has been a challenge for many of us. The COVID pandemic, the economic downturn, and the civil division around social injustices have created a negative triple whammy. It has been troubling to see collegiate track and field programs eliminated.

On the bright side, I have always believed that when and the are healthy, then our sport can be optimistic. From all indications TrackTown USA is thriving even in this environment. It is time to play offense! Vin Lananna

The images of Hayward Field are “over the top,” and I know that TrackTown USA will soon be buzzing. I am very proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am excited for the future. The Oregon Track Club officials, OTC Masters, U of O teams, all the facilities, OTC All Comers meets, and the outstanding international events have set the gold standard for any community. I am anxious to see what is next for the OTC Elite athletes. The World Athletics Championships in 2022 will be spectacular. It should be a great couple of years.

Elizabeth and I are finally settling into our new home in Charlottesville and I am cautiously optimistic about a semblance of a track and field season in Virginia. I hope that 2021 will bring you health, peace, and happiness. I look forward to seeing you this spring at the NCAA Championships and the Trials.

Best regards,

Vin Lananna
