We are so grateful to be back in the water this year, 2020 was a very limited year for the swimming community. What a year we have had; another wonderful season of swimming, sportsmanship and fun. We are excited to once again host one of the largest meets in the U.S. and look forward to another great meet. We want to wish all of our swimmers the best of luck in this weekend’s competition. This year we are happy to return to the Georgia Tech and the McAuley Aquatic Center. This facility hosted the 1996 Olympic swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming events. This wonderful facility has played host to numerous national and international events and is one of the best aquatic facilities in the world. Georgia Tech will host both the 2022 Women’s and Men’s NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships, as well as US Nationals this December. Many more great events are on tab for the best aquatic center in the US. Prior to the 2016 Olympics, the McAuley Center hosted the US Swimming and Diving teams in their final training camps before heading to Rio. ASA thanks the staff of the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center for all of their help in hosting this year’s championship. We are thrilled to be back at this wonderful facility again. The Atlanta Swim Association strives to offer the best swimming program in town. We not only want to help create good swimmers, we hope to help create good people. We encourage good sportsmanship, the benefits teamwork, and want our swimmers to continue to improve their performances through hard work and fair play. These objectives are carried out each season by the tireless efforts of coaches and parent coordinators who continue to make each season fun for all. If you see one of these folks today, be sure to thank them, they are what make ASA the program it is today. We are grateful for their hard work and great attitudes. We hope that everyone has had a fun summer of swimming so far. A special thank you goes to all of our volunteers this weekend. Each year teams provide us with the best help in the world for running a meet of this size. Thanks to the work of our volunteer timers, runners, bullpen workers, crowd control workers, awards and drink workers this meet gets done in a timely fashion. We would never be able to have this meet without their help. We hope you enjoy the competition and again wish all of our teams and swimmers the best of luck.
