Level Dear Educators, Join us for an amazing year of new STEM learning, new exhibits, and preparation for the biggest astronomical event in U.S. history, the 2017 total solar eclipse! At ASC, we strive to be an invaluable STEM education partner and resource for educators by providing unique hands-on learning for students and exceptional ADVENTURE professional development opportunities for teachers. We’ve been hard at work this summer creating new and standards-based program offerings—here are a few of my personal favorites: SCIENCE • Life on Earth, an exploration of the fascinating characteristics that make life possible on earth (Meets earth & space science standards for elementary school students) • Cow Eye Dissections, an illuminating lab CENTER! investigation of biodiversity and the structure of cells. (Meets life science standards for middle school students) • Astro-Engineering, a challenging lab where students compete to create the most functional and cost- effective space suit possible. (Meets embedded technology and engineering standards for high school students) We’re excited to offer 3 new planetarium shows, Destination Solar System, Habitat Earth, and Eclipse: The Sun Revealed, and several great new professional development sessions. And don’t miss our feature exhibitions this school year: • Extreme Deep: Mission to the Abyss (Fall Semester) OPENS SEP. 24, 2016—an exploration of the mysteries of the ocean’s depths. • Wicked Plants (Spring Semester) OPENS JAN. 28, 2017—100 of the most frightening members of the kingdom Plantae. As always, we wish you the very best year with your students. Thank you for choosing us as a STEM partner. Kindest regards, Director of Education and Community Engagement TENNESSEE SCIENCE ALLIANCE As a member of the Tennessee Science Alliance program, Adventure Science Center receives funding from the Tennessee Legislature to provide instructor-led science education for Tennessee students. Our program offerings are made possible by a grant contract with the state of Tennessee. For the 2015-2016 school year, Adventure Science Center served 79,000 Tennessee learners with school programs, after-school programs, outreach programs, day camp programs, and more. 2 plan the perfect stem adventure N for your students TIP: Organized Booking Your Field Trip ..................................................4 W E by Grade Field Trip Guide ...............................................................5 Level COMING SOON..........................................................................6 Digging for Dinos Little Lab ...........................................7 S Life Cycle Mania Little Lab Little Engineers Little Lab Space Blast OFF!
