The beneficial microbes application degrading the organic contaminants and the sustainable plants will act as a biofilter and soil stabilization & to absorb the toxic components in the water. Bio-Remediation uses living things to break down or remove toxins and harmful substances from soil and water. -

Education) Behala, West Bengal ABSTRACT The present paper is based on the study of conditions of housing, sanitation and drinking water of peo- ple migrating from various parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Orissa. A case study under ward no. 13 of Bhadreswar Municipality is completed to understand the various problems faced by migrants. Nearly 80 percent popula- tion are migrant and suffer from lack of basic facilties like housing, sanitation and drinking water. The study reveals that there is absence of implementation of various programmes launched by central and state Government. Study reveals that although local body is making effort for betterment of migrant due to but lack of fund, high density of population, un- planned migration and lack of community participation facilities and awareness the goal is still not fully achieved. INTRODUCTION of Hooghly. From the dawn of the Human civilization Food, shelter and clothing are basic needs of each and every human be- ing. With the change of time need of society changes but need of Shelter, safe drinking water and sanitation are basic requirement. As per United Nations Guidelines adequate housing in terms of legal security of tenure; availability of services ,materials facilities and infrastructure ,affordability , habitability,accesssibilty, and location and cultural adequacy (Shaw,2004) are important. -

GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL ADMINISTRATIVE CALENDAR 2020 2019-20: THE JOURNEY TRAVERSED AGRICULTURE & ALLIED ACTIVITIES The Bengal Government has supported, empowered and enabled its farmers through several initiatives. The Krishak Bandhu scheme has provided assured income and death benefits to over 40 lakh farmers as of 2019. 66 lakh farmer families affected by natural calamities received crop rehabilitation relief last year along with 45 lakh farmers being covered under Bangla Fasal Bima Yojana. Additionally, Sufal Bangla helps market the agri-produce of over 6 lakh farmers annually. Irrigation being the backbone of agriculture, the Bengal Government has completed more than 2600 irrigation projects and created more than 61000 hectares of irrigation potential. In pursuit of a Zero Hunger goal, 98% of the State’s population (9.15 Crore persons) is covered under Khadya Sathi scheme along with Bengal witnessing 16 times increase in food storage capacity from 61,000 MT in 2011 to 9.87 lakh MT in 2019. In the Fisheries sector, 2019-20 saw commendable fish production to the tune of 17.42 lakh MT. Over 15000 water- bodies were created under the Jal Dharo Jal Bharo scheme. Moreover, Bengal also witnessed a 13% increase in annual egg production from 2018-19 to 2019-20. ECONOMY The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Sector has been propelling employment with the fructification of several mega projects. A Mega Leather Cluster project is under progress at Bantala with a potential to generate employment for 2 lakh persons. Similarly, 3 Mega Carpet Clusters, with a potential to benefit 4000 carpet weavers, is under progress in Malda, Uttar Dinajpur and Purba Medinipur. -

Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 26th May, 1966.] [26th May, 1966.] An Act to provide for the establishment of an Authority for the maintenance, development and regulation of water-supply, sewerage and drainage services and for the collection and disposal of garbage in the Calcutta Metropolitan District with a view to the promotion of public health and for matters connected therewith. WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the establishment of an Authority for the maintenance, development and regulation cif water-supply, sewerage and drainage services and for the collection and disposal of garbage in the Calcutta Metropolitan.
