This edition of the Golden Ticket Arts Guide lists hundreds of free offerings to great cultural activities throughout our community. Miami-Dade County is dedicated to bringing senior residents, ages 62 and over, exciting arts events at no charge, every day from now through October 31, 2020. Miami-Dade County has one of the most effective and innovative Departments of Cultural Affairs in the nation. The Department and the Cultural Affairs Council, its 15-member volunteer advisory board, develop cultural excellence, diversity and participation throughout Miami-Dade County by strategically creating and promoting opportunities for artists and cultural organizations, and our residents and visitors who are their audiences. Through staff, board and programmatic resources, the Department and the Council promote, coordinate and support Miami-Dade County’s more than 1,100 not-for-profit cultural organizations as well as thousands of resident artists through grants, technical assistance, public information and interactive community planning. The Department receives funding through the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, the National Endowment for the Arts, the State of Florida through the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Arts Council, The Children’s Trust, and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Other support and services are provided by TicketWeb for the Culture Shock Miami program, the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, the South Florida Cultural Consortium and the Tourist Development Council. 4 Ranky Tanky will perform at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center in April 2020. For more information call Miami-Dade Transit Customer Service (305) 770-3131 (TTY Users 305-654-6530). 8 how it works Here’s How the Golden Ticket Arts Program Works: • Golden Tickets will be available two weeks before an event. • Call Golden Ticket Arts Partners in advance to confirm Golden Ticket availability. • Clip out and complete a Golden Ticket coupon from the back of this arts guide. Refer to pages 198-212. • Present your Golden Ticket at the venue entrance with your ID showing proof of age (62 or older) and Miami-Dade County residency. • Visit participating Golden Ticket Arts Partners through October 31, 2020. Events have a limited number of Golden Tickets available and require advance reservations to reserve seating. Check listings for specific information and instructions. Golden Tickets will be available two weeks before an event. Group arrangements must be coordinated in advance. Call Golden Ticket Arts Partners before organizing a group to attend events together and finalizing your plans.
