CURRENT HAPPENINGS Adult Forum - We will continue our study of “The Way of Love – Practices for A Jesus-Centered Life.” We will provide materials at each session. Join us each Sunday from 9 – 10 am in the Canterbury Room.

Men’s Breakfast – Meets Tuesdays at 6:30 am at Red Sage Café located at Pullman Regional hospital. All men and women are welcome.

ECW/Women of St. James will gather in the Canterbury Room on Wednesday, March 6, for fellowship at 11am. The group will attend Ash Wednesday services at 12 noon, & then continue with lunch at 12:45. (Note the change in time.) All women are invited & welcome.

Advocacy Sunday – Starting Sunday, March 10, St. James will be offering a regular chance for people at the 8 a.m. service and the 10:30 service to write postcards to politicians at the local, regional, national, and international levels to advocate for the changes needed to make the world a more just and welcoming place for all. We will do this on the second Sunday of each month. We will supply info sheets on policy statements of the Episcopal Church as well as all the supplies needed to write brief postcards about these issues. Our postcards feature a picture of the cross above the St. James' altar! You can change the world. Words matter!

SAVE THE DATE The week of March 24, St James will partner with Trinity Lutheran to serve as Family Promise hosts. Your help will be needed in many ways!

March 11– St James will be offering a community spaghetti dinner to WSU students staying for the break. Can you help? See Rev. Linda or Liz Siler.

March 5 – Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. Join us between 5:30 – 6:30pm in the Parish Hall.

March 6 – Ash Wednesday – Lent begins – Eucharist with the Imposition of Ashes at Noon and 7pm.

March 9 – Eucharistic Visitor Training (Commission on Ministry Course)

March 15-17 – Diocesan Womens Retreat

March 15-17 – Episcopal Mission Weekend (grades 6-12)

March 23 – Annual Giving Workshop

March 29-30 – Diocesan Mens Retreat

April 1 – Deadline to submit the Church Growth and Development Grant

April 6 – Worship Leader Training (Commission on Ministry course)

April 13 – Wardens & Treasurers Workshop Day (Commission on Ministry course)

OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE AND GIVING March 16 – 23 - Meals on Wheels volunteers are needed. There are 2 routes this year, which means St. James needs to provide 4 people each day. Who can help? Please contact Catherine Ritchie, 509-334-3132 or [email protected].

Toiletries If you are interested in donating small, unopened hotel sized toiletries collected on your travels out of town, please drop them in the box marked "toiletries" in the narthex. These toiletries will be collected

periodically and brought to the House of Charity homeless shelter in Spokane. Please don't put anything except small, unopened hotel-sized toiletries in the box.

Food Bank – Thank you for your ongoing support of the food bank! Please double bag canned goods. Needs for the food bank: needs for this month are: Canned Fruit, Hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.), Boxed meals, Fresh produce, and Diapers sizes 4,5,& 6. If you would like, you can write a check to the “Community Food Bank” and Cheryl will deliver it and bring you a receipt the following week.

EMERGENCY NUMBER FOR AFTER HOURS Please note: If you have an emergency that requires the immediate attention of the clergy after office hours call 208-502-0167 to leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. We ask that you use this number in the case of true emergencies that cannot wait until regular office hours which are Tuesday – Friday 9am-noon. Thank you!
