Together with Ladywell Cemetery, previously BROCKLEY CEMETERY, 2 FAMILY known as Lewisham Cemetery, it occupies 37 acres (150,000m ) of land wholly within the Borough of Lewisham and is owned KENT and managed by the Cemeteries and Crematorium Services of the Borough. They are also nature conservation sites of Borough 8 people Importance Grade 1 and a haven for wildlife, plants and wildflowers. Both cemeteries hold a wealth of historical interest. Evidence of Deptford's seafaring past can be found in the many inscriptions and adornments on the headstones. The area was originally pleasure gardens, opened in 1834, but turned into a cemetery in 1837, as the 'Gravesend & Milton Cemetery DURHAM GRAVESEND CEMETERY, Company'. There are panoramic views from top of hill of Crystal Palace and towards the City. There are various areas within the cemetery such as Great War Heroes Corner and Commonwealth Burial Ground, a Norwegian section for

GREENWICH, KENT FAMILY refugees of World War II, and a Children's section. Due to the proximity of the military academy and other institutions at , there 4 people are many soldiers buried here. As almost all the Durham deaths in the area occurred before 1856, perhaps they are not buried here, but at St Alphege’s Church, Greenwich is perhaps the least known, but most attractive, of the great Victorian Cemeteries of London. Consecrated in 1840, NUNHEAD CEMETERY, DURHAM it is one of the seven great Victorian cemeteries established in a ring around the outskirts of London. It contains examples of the SURREY FAMILY magnificent monuments erected in memory of the most eminent citizens of the day, which contrast sharply with the small, simple ALL SAINTS' CEMETERY 18 people headstones marking common, or public, burials. It's formal avenue of towering limes and the Gothic gloom of the original Victorian planting gives way to paths which recall the country lanes of a bygone era also known as (West) Norwood Cemetery, it is a 40-acre (16 ha) cemetery in West Norwood, London Borough of Lambeth, consecrated KNOTT in 1837 - one of the first private landscaped cemeteries in London, it is one of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries of London, and is a NORWOOD, SURREY, site of major historical, architectural and ecological interest. Its grounds are a mixture of historic monumental cemetery and modern SOUTH METROPOLITAN FAMILY lawn cemetery, but it also has catacombs, cremation plots and a columbarium for cindery ashes. The cemetery's crematorium still CEMETERY 3 people operates, and cremation plots are still available, but all the conventional burial plots have been allocated and hence it is closed to new burials pending further agreement under current burial legislation NOT KNOWN
