TheSeasons July - October 2017 Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season. 2 Timothy 4:2 Welcome Welcome from the National Director ear friends, I love hearing and reading people’s D stories. Especially stories of how people have encountered God. Recently, at our spring regional retreats, our Evangelists shared their stories. There was a lot of vulnerability and trust as we gathered together and shared stories. These stories had similar themes - in the midst of brokenness, God met us and began transforming our lives. The ways in which God encounters us is powerful. These stories are similar to those of the people whom we are privileged to be walking alongside. Whether “down and out” or “up and out”, God continues to encounter the broken and lead them to wholeness and restoration. Each of our Evangelists share these journeys with people. This year, we have been blessed with opportunities to help equip even more people to carry on in that same journey. Through local and regional workshops, conferences and our Threshold School of Ministry, we have shared in the equipping of hundreds of individuals who are ready to walk alongside those in their communities. I want to thank everyone of you. Thank you for all that you do to help further the work of Threshold Ministries. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. Thank you for your commitment to our vision and ministry. I wish you, and those you love, a truly happy and blessed summer. Yours in Christ, The Seasons is available to view online or download. You can also join us in Shawn C. Branch prayer by email each week. WHY SHOULD I SUPPORT TM? We are often asked, “Why should I support Threshold Ministries? Does a church cover your costs?” Threshold Ministries is 100% reliant on donations from individuals who are passionate about what we do. We are involved (through partnership or leading the cause) with: • evangelism resources for individuals and congregations • workshops offering equipping and practical training for mission • community-based ministry projects that are responding to needs that the local church cannot respond to on its own • training and equipping individuals for ministry • institutional chaplaincies and reintegration of ex-offenders into communities • helping to reboot congregations. At the moment, we have 3 new community-based ministry projects that are being developed. There is need around every corner for people to know Jesus. The desire of every Threshold Ministries Evangelist is for people to know Jesus. Your financial gifts enable this to happen. You can give by: • mailing in a donation (cheque or credit card) - use the pre-paid envelope included in this mailing; • setting up monthly automatic giving; • online giving; • legacy/estate giving. If you have questions about how you can give or would like to make a gift, please contact our Financial Officer: Marilyn Otis, (506) 642-2210 or [email protected] STAY IN TOUCH Connect with us online: /thresholdministries @thresholdmin www.thresholdministries.ca 4 Where you go, I’ll go. Where you stay, I’ll stay. Evangelist Name: Agnes (Aggie) Flam Commissioned: 1994 Ministry: Missioner, Eastmain, QC Aggie is a gifted children’s Evangelist and musician. She has served in churches in a variety of denominations throughout the Maritimes, Manitoba and British Columbia. Having recently completed training in animation, she has spent some time working in the public sector with animation studios. While living and working in the Halifax region, Aggie had hoped to launch a new inner-city youth ministry program, called Street Hope Kids. However, in His divine wisdom, God had other plans in store for Aggie. In the Spring of 2017, she relocated to Eastmain, QC, taking on a new ministry role. Her position is twofold: to serve as Pastor/Incumbent for the Anglican Parish of St. Mark’s and as Missioner in this isolated Cree community. As such, Aggie hopes to learn the culture and language of the Cree people of James Bay. She desires to love the people, and see the church grow in discipleship; to be a place for children and youth to journey in their faith in Christ; for adults to continue to grow in their faith; and for there to be great joy in their journey together. Please join us in prayer for Aggie as she STAY IN TOUCH ventures where Connect with us online: God has called her to go. /thresholdministries @thresholdmin www.thresholdministries.ca The Seasons 5 Pray for...
