Walkers can explore a few of the excellent off- road paths within the Galloway Forest Park, or adventurous mountain bikers can tackle the 7stanes mountain biking trails. Castle Douglas is a lovely market town with a vibrant traditional main street, King Street, which is one of the bustling retail centres of Dumfries and Galloway. King Street’s shops, cafés and delis will be open all weekend over the 3 and 4 September. There will be a host of cycling activities and support events to celebrate the arrival of the Tour of Britain. Castle Douglas is less than 2 hours south from Glasgow and approximately 2 hours 15 minutes south west of Edinburgh. For visitors coming for the day please follow yellow AA road signs to our park and ride facility on the outskirts of the town.
