The Coca-Cola Company

The Coca-Cola Company began in 1886 in Atlanta, GA when Dr. John S. Pemberton, a pharmacist, created a soft with flavored syrup and carbonated water. Frank M.

Robinson, his partner, thought of the name “Coca-Cola.” He thought that the two Cs would sound great together. Robinson also created the unique and famous script that is still used today. Coca-Cola was first sold in an Atlanta pharmacy. The popularity grew and was expanded outside of Atlanta. By 1894, Coca-Cola was distributed in bottles. In 1944, Coca-Cola became a registered trademark. The creative and distinctive Coca-Cola bottle was trademarked in 1977. From 1886 to now, Coca-Cola has the world’s most beloved beverages.

The bottling partners manufacture, package and distribute the beverages to the vendors who sell the products to the consumers. These bottling partners have direct contact to the vendors in their local communities. These partnerships help employ many local citizens.

The Coca-Cola Foundation is the company’s primary philanthropy. The Coca-Cola

Foundation has given back $820 million to help local communities worldwide since

1984. Robert Goizueta started the Coca-Cola Foundation. It started out as a local foundation and has grown and developed into an international foundation. In 2013 alone, the foundation helped 134 million people in 122 countries. It is funded by donations and by the company giving back one percent of its income. The priority areas of the foundation include women empowerment and entrepreneurship, access to clean water, water conservation, recycling, education and youth development and active healthy living. THE COCA-COLA COMPANY ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH RIO 2016 OLYMPICS

ATLANTA, Feb. 27, 2016- The Coca-Cola Company announced today a partnership with the Rio 2016 Olympics to promote its products that are advocating healthier lifestyles. Coca-Cola has a history of sponsoring the Olympics and is proud to do it again. Coca-Cola has the longest relationship with the Olympics. The company began its partnership with the Olympics in 1928. The partnership will help both the Olympic athletes and The Coca-Cola Company by increasing product usage of waters, teas and sports drinks. The athletes, spectators and officials will be able to refresh with Coca-Cola products.
