A. General Rules 1. ICISHT Participant Must join in zoom room at least 15 minutes before the activity starts

B. Presentation Parallel Session Rules The requirements for participants who will take part in a parallel session:

1. ICISHT Presenter must prepare the presentation tools maximum 7 slide and send through this google form https://forms.gle/CHAoo2s4tnTPxTwd8 to the committee No Later Than 9 December 2020 Time 23.59 WITA 2. The Presentation duration maximum 7 minutes 3. Presenter must stay in room zoom until the parallel session end 4. During the presentation, moderator will give two warning signs regard the timing. The first warning shows 2 minutes remaining and the second warning means that time is up. 5. The participant who wants to ask for a question must write down on the zoom chat, with format : Name_Question_(Presenter’s name), Example : Febriyanti_Question_Ayu Nurfadila 6. If there is network problem, moderator will give other participants the chance to presentation first and the participant who face network problem is expected to inform the committee via email or WhatsApp Message.

Introduction Cultural landscape is a product of human intervention to nature using culture as the agent (Sauer, 1963). Within unique tangible and intangible elements to form a real and imaginary space formation (Singh, 2010; Rosmalia, 2016).

One form of cultural landscapes formed by intangible element is shown on the activity of Kanoman Keraton tradition, in the city of Cirebon, West Java Province, Indonesia.

One part of the keraton building with high heritage value is Lumpang Alu, a paddy pounder relic, in front of the palace, had been exist since 15 Century (before Cerbon Kingdom). on There, a heritage memayu tradition has been held in every years, for a hundred years. 3 Position of Lumpang Alu

Memayu Tradition of Kanoman Keraton The memayu tradition as part of muludan tradition to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Held on 25th of Sapar, to cleaning the whole of Keraton. Start dan finish at Lumpang Alu . Activity at Lumpang Alu: is replacing the welit roof

4 Practioner of Memayu

This tradition is followed by disciples of the palace, known as wargi, They come from eight villages: Jambe, Jagapura, Kapringan, Kapetakan, Bedulan, Grogol, Kedung Dalem, and Pegagan Villages (Cirebon Regency).

Memayu is not only understood as an activity to clean the Keraton, but also has other meaning perceived by the ritual practitioners from the beginning until their return to the villages

The purpose of their involvement is to seek blessings, and they can take home tumbal (tumpeng Rice, Jati (Tectona grandis) leaves, and welit roof) for repel evil

7 Significance of Memayu Tradition Activity

Lumpang Alu unveils (and is also) a technological form, developed at that time, and has become a historic monument of the existence of once a glorious Cerbon Kingdom

Memayu activity, at the Lumpung Alu, is a proof of an extraordinary uniqueness, since it has been done since the establishment of the keraton.

The view of the wargi’s journey from the village to the keraton is considered unique. The entire elements in the forms of: participants, place, supporting tools, time, all the way to the meaning contained within this memayu are a complete description of part of Kanoman Keraton cultural landscape.

The spatial pattern created a physical evidence of an imaginary sacred space - a space that is believed to bring blessings to the wargi, especially at Lumpung Alu

Both of spaces and elements contained in the memayu are elements with specific historic value, uniqueness, and authenticity that can only be found in Cirebon

Memayu in Kanoman Keraton is a part of mauludan tradition of Kanoman Palace in Cirebon, Indonesia. The distinctiveness of this tradition is the number of palace disciples from villages outside of Cirebon City who is involved in the implementation. These disciples, also known as wargi, are involved from the preparation stage at their particular villages until the implementation of the tradition at the palace. The activities of the wargi began at the villages all the way to the palace forming an imaginary sacred space. This meaningful space is formed from the perceptions of the wargi, as the actors of tradition, based on an understanding of the sacred value of the memayu. This article will provide a description of the activities of memayu and the space form that occurs, and the meaning contained within the traditional space. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative through surveys, observation, and interviews with the informants. The analysis stage was conducted by gradual reduction and classification. The results of the research show the positions of the participating villages and the trip route to the Keraton created a sacred imaginary spatial pattern. The spatial pattern created within this memayu becomes physical evidence of an imaginary sacred space that the elements are symbolically purified and believed to bring blessings to the wargi.

Memayu di Kanoman Keraton adalah bagian dari tradisi mauludan Keraton Kanoman di Cirebon, Indonesia. Yang membedakan tradisi ini adalah banyaknya murid keraton dari desa di luar Kota Cirebon yang terlibat dalam pelaksanaannya. Murid-murid yang juga dikenal sebagai wargi ini dilibatkan mulai dari tahap persiapan di desa masing-masing hingga pelaksanaan tradisi di istana. Aktivitas para wargi dimulai di desa-desa sampai ke istana membentuk ruang sakral imajiner. Ruang makna ini terbentuk dari persepsi para wargi sebagai pelaku tradisi yang dilandasi oleh pemahaman akan nilai sakral memayu. Artikel ini akan memberikan gambaran tentang aktivitas memayu dan bentuk ruang yang terjadi, serta makna yang terkandung dalam ruang tradisional tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui survei, observasi, dan wawancara dengan informan. Tahap analisis dilakukan dengan reduksi dan klasifikasi secara bertahap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan posisi desa peserta dan rute perjalanan menuju Keraton menciptakan pola spasial imajiner yang sakral. Pola ruang yang tercipta dalam memayu ini menjadi bukti fisik suatu ruang sakral imajiner yang unsur-unsurnya dimurnikan secara simbolis dan dipercaya membawa berkah bagi wargi.
