W, 5-2 At a meeting of the Pac-12 CEO Group and Athletic Directors March 14, the Pac-12 made the decision to cancel 2/15 CSU Bakersfield Bakersfield, Calif. W, 10-2 The Division I Council March 30 voted to allow schools to provide spring-sport student-athletes an additional season of competition and an extension of their period of eligibility. Pac-12 Overall - This past fall, the baseball program posted its highest semester GPA (3.05) in program history after 22 players UCLA 0-0 13-2 posted a 3.0 GPA or better in the semester. Arizona State 0-0 13-4 - The team started a viral campaign named Meet The Professor where each student-athlete introduces them- USC 0-0 10-5 selves and takes a selfie with their professor in the first class of the semester. Arizona 0-0 10-5 - In January, the team gathered at a local elementary school and helped the Whitman County Special Olympics Washington 0-0 9-6 with basketball practice. Washington State 0-0 9-7 Oregon 0-0 8-7 KYLE MANZARDO NAMED PAC-12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK Utah 0-0 6-7 Kyle Manzardo was named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week March 10. Manzardo was the first Cougar Oregon State 0-0 5-9 position player to earn the conference weekly honor since Trek Stemp in 2016. Brandon White was named the California 0-0 5-11 Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week following week two of last season.

The award, given to the top player in collegiate baseball, is based on two rounds of national voting. This is the 26th year of the Dick Howser Trophy presented by Easton Foundations. The award will be presented at TD Ameritrade Stadium in downtown Omaha, the home of the College World Series for the second year. The award will be presented on Friday, June 15 at 11 a.m. CT, the opening day of the 2012 CWS. The candidates hail from 17 different conferences and 32 different schools. The Big 12 leads the way with six semifinalists, followed by the Southeastern Conference with five, ACC with three and the Colonial Athletic Association, Conference USA, Southland, Southern and West Coast Conferences with two. Every position on the diamond but shortstop is represented, including 10 starting pitchers, five outfielders, four catchers, second basemen and relief pitchers, three first basemen, two third basemen and utility players and one designated hitter, among this diversified group. The Dick Howser Trophy, given in memory of the former Florida State University All-America shortstop and major league player and manager, who died of brain cancer in 1987, is regarded by many as college baseball's most prestigious award. Grandal had one of the most impressive offensive seasons in Miami history, leading the Atlantic Coast Conference in batting average (.401), slugging percentage (.721) and on-base percentage (.527). He is a finalist for the Johnny Bench Award in addition to being named the 2010 ACC Player of the Year and a first team NCBWA Pro-Line Athletic All-America selection. Grandal was also selected by the Cincinnati Reds with the 12th overall pick in the first round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
