When you hear someone say that Hollywood Studios is a “half day Park,” this collection of shows and attractions is most likely what they’re talking about. It visits all of the Studios’ major attractions and at least two of its major stage shows. It’s ideal if you’re short on time , prefer to spend your time elsewhere, or are concerned that you won’t be able to tour for an extended period of time and don’t want to spend the time traveling for an afternoon break. The other positive aspect of the half-day easyPlan is that it includes the 3pm Parade, something that isn’t usually possible if you’re planning a break. Additional FASTPASSes The Plan only calls for you specifically to collect FASTPASSes for Toy Story Mania and Star Tours. If you’d like to ride Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, or Star Tours a second time, you’re welcome to collect additional FASTPASSes for those attractions in place of a stage show or other attraction. Note the average length of time it takes to complete the attraction with FASTPASS on the list of attractions below and consider walking times as well. Replace another attraction with a return to a FASTPASS ride or tack on extra time in the afternoon to return to a favorite. If you would prefer to stay together, instead of using the FASTPASS runner, simply have everyone in the group head to the FASTPASS machines to collect their own FASTPASSes. The FASTPASS runner is intended to save time and allow those who are slower or have less stamina to rest. Deviation from the Plan and Adding Addition Attractions in the Afternoon The Plan officially “ends” at about 3:30pm, but there’s no law that states you have to leave right after. Feel free to visit any green attraction you’d like to experience or return to any major attraction with FASTPASSes collected earlier in the day. As usual, the key to success is the early morning, where you want to arrive prior to Park opening and be among the first people to FASTPASS and ride Toy Story Mania, before moving to Sunset Boulevard for Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. After that, you have little to worry about other than making it to the many scheduled shows. Timing the shows means staying to a relatively rigid schedule or maintaining a lot of flexibility as you tour in the late morning and afternoon. You may need to rearrange your plans a bit if you’re running behind by switching around stage shows and attractions based on when the stage show begins. This won’t alter the effectiveness of the Plan so long as you make it through the major attractions in the morning. The Attractions in Order: Arrival: Arrive at Hollywood Studios at least 30-40 minutes prior to opening. Have one person from your party collect all theme park tickets and move to the front of the pack on Hollywood Boulevard, prepared to head straight to Toy Story Mania. 1. Collect FASTPASSes for Toy Story Mania. Ideally, have your fastest member collect the group’s theme park tickets and head straight to the FASTPASS line (this person is known as the FASTPASS runner), which is located before the attraction entrance on the right side. There will be a single line for all FASTPASS machines and cast members will be set up at each FASTPASS machine to put your tickets through (they’ll put one ticket or 100 tickets through, they don’t care). The rest of the group can meet across from the Toy Story Mania entrance. 2. Once the FASTPASS runner meets the rest of the group, continue immediately to the standby entrance to ride Toy Story Mania. 3. Exit Toy Story Mania and head back the way you came toward Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat. Continue walking back toward the main entrance, only take a left onto Sunset Boulevard after passing Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant and the entrance to Starring Rolls Café. Head to the end of Sunset Boulevard, passing Tower of Terror, to ride Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster in the standby line. The wait time will likely be inflated this early in the morning – don’t worry. 4. Head back the way you came to ride the Tower of Terror in the standby line. We bypass it initially because waits build faster at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. 5. Exit Sunset Boulevard and head toward Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat. Have the FASTPASS runner collect everyone’s tickets to get FASTPASSes for Star Tours. Star Tours is located in Echo Lake. Head down the path outside American Idol Experience, directly to the left of Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat. Continue past Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Backlot Express Quick Service to Star Tours. The FASTPASS machines are located to the right of the standby entrance. The rest of the group can stay at Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat. There should be several characters in the area to meet and there’s a pin store underneath the Sorcerer’s Hat to peruse. You may also want to sit down on the various benches. 6. Ride the Great Movie Ride once the FASTPASS Runner returns. The entrance is located directly behind Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat. 7. See Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The entrance is located in the Animation Courtyard directly on the left as you enter the Courtyard. If you don’t see the Courtyard, head back out to the front of Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat and look diagonally to the right for the large archway. 8. See the 11:30am Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular or the 11:30am Beauty and the Beast Stage Show - whichever you prefer. If you’d like, you may be able to catch the 12:45pm show in place of Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show in Step 10 or stay long enough to catch the 4:00pm (Beauty and the Beast) or 4:15pm (Indiana Jones) show. Indiana Jones is located across the way from American Idol Experience and Beauty and the Beast is located on Sunset Boulevard, on the right just before the walkway up to the entrance to Tower of Terror. 9. Have lunch. You’re welcome

During a special dedication ceremony Wednesday night inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek lauded the attraction’s immersive storytelling and technological innovation. “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance sets a new standard for what a theme park experience can be,” Chapek said. “Tonight, we’re welcoming the world to experience the Star Wars galaxy like never before, with the opening of the most ambitious, immersive, advanced, action-packed attraction we’ve ever created.” Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most ambitious attractions ever created for a Disney park. Saturday April 16th - Hollywood Studios Park Hours: 9:00am - 9:30pm Lights, camera, ACTION! Get ready to take center stage at today’s attractions here at Hollywood Studios! This park is home to some of the best roller coasters and stage shows in Disney World! Today the kids can count their points on Toy Story Midway Mania and sing along with Anna and Elsa! Hollywood Studios TIP: If the kids would like to participate in the Jedi Training Academy you will need to report to the queue outside Hollywood and Vine Restaurant at park opening in order to have a chance at securing a spot in this experience. Guests between the ages of 4 and 12 years of age will be selected for each show. The young Jedis-to-be will then be instructed to arrive 30 minutes prior to their assigned show so that they can receive further special instructions. Be there early! The Academy has limited capacity, so it’s first come, first sabered. We strongly recommend arriving to the park at 8:30am and running straight to Hollywood and Vine to be escorted to the sign up area as soon as the rope drops. 9:05am - Aerosmith’s Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster! (35) - It’s time to ROCK on this jammin’ coaster that will send you direct to the concert-in the FAST lane! *Note: 48” height requirement. You can use the Rider Switch option if you would like to ride and the kids cannot ride. We highly suggest the single rider line for a quicker option if you are ok riding alone.

  • The Communicator Joyful Experiments with Just
THE COMMUNICATOR SUMMER, 2018 JOYFUL EXPERIMENTS WITH JUST PEACE ARE COMING... by Rev. Heather Haginduff, Lead Minister [email protected] Last month, our Church Council, Staff and Leadership Cultivation Committee had a retreat facilitated byKimberley Sherwood of Third Sector Group. In years past, this retreat was to do some strategic planning for the church. Kimberley recommended that perhaps strategic planning wasn’t timely, since a new lead pastor is not “plug and play.” Creating a shorter term goal became the focus of this retreat to help build trust and relationships as we venture forward. Using Theory U, the group went through an experience called “presencing.” That experience often carries with it ideas for meeting challenges and for bringing into being an unforeseen future. Through a process that explored innovation as well as “helpful struggles,” Table of Contents FCC’s leadership identified one key imperative for the next 18 months: Joyful Experiments 1 Summer Worship 2 Remarkable Transitions 3a “We will joyfully experiment Summer Flowers 3b Beer & Bible School 3c with Just Peace.” The Kids Korner 4 This rallying cry for the 2018-19 Multi-Faith Experience 5a program year will focus our collective POPS in the Summer 5b Youth Mission Trips 6 efforts to deepen our Just Peace La Puente, Alamosa 7a covenant into the marrow of our All Church CampOut! 7b identity at FCC. • Disney's Hollywood Studios
PAGE 1 1-DAY P ARK P LAN Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney’s Hollywood Studios® is one hoppenin’ place! This park has been in transition the last few years as it adds more rides, shows, entertainment and restaurants, most notably with the opening of Toy Story Land in summer 2018 and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on Aug. 29, 2019! The park is definitely getting busier — having a plan is key! This is the one park you definitely want to get to before opening and absolutely make sure to use FastPass+. Disney typically opens the park before the scheduled opening, although the time can vary depending on predicted crowds. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before park opening to sign your child up for Jedi Training (more on this below) and be one of the first to ride the most popular rides that don’t offer FastPass+ (or you don’t have reservations for). Most of Disney’s Hollywood Studios®’ shows run from 25 to 60 minutes, some with fixed times throughout the day. For the best seats, plan to arrive at least 25 minutes ahead of time. Character greeting locations are spread throughout the park, and FastPass+ is not available for many of them. If characters are a priority, we recommend adding them in to the morning mix after you ride your priority attractions. One opportunity your little one may not want to miss is the chance to participate in the Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, held at fixed times throughout the day. Children ages 4 through 12 get to learn from a Jedi Master and see if they have what it takes to defeat Darth Vader! To get your child into one of the slots per show, you’ll need to sign up at the Indiana Jones Outpost between Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! and 50’s Prime Time Cafe immediately at park opening.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Fun Facts From a climactic battle between the Resistance and the First Order, to an authentic Star Warscantina on the Outer Rim of the galaxy, to exotic creatures, military encampments and daring missions aboard the Millennium Falcon, guests find plenty of stories to explore as they live their own adventures inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and Disneyland Park in California. By the Numbers Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge spans more than 14 acres, making it the largest single-themed land expansion in Disney Parks history. More than a dozen venues fill the land, including Resistance and First Order encampments, a spaceport and a bustling marketplace. Two attractions entice guests to live their own Star Warsadventures – Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. When guests enter the hangar bay of a Star Destroyer as part of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, 50 First Order Stormtroopers are waiting to greet them. The Millennium Falcon docked in the Black Spire Outpost Spaceport measures more than 100 feet long. Among the ancient-looking spires across the land, the tallest is more than 130 feet high. The land was created with more than 200,000 square feet of rockwork and approximately 260,000 square feet of themed plaster. More than 7,000 props were created for the land.
