Simba brands includes Simba, Lays, Doritos, Fritos, Niknaks, Ghots pops, Simba peanuts, Chipnix, Cheetos etc. With operations in 42 countries PepsiCo is the leading multinational snack chips company, accounting for about one-fifth of international retail snacks chip sales. Products are available in more than 100 countries. PepsiCo International Europe Middle East and Africa operates in the following countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. Often, PepsiCo Snack Company products are known by local names. These names include Matutano in Spain, Smiths in the Netherlands, Walkers in the United Kingdom and Simba in South Africa. The project opportunity will be at the central distribution centre, PepsiCo Park in Germiston, South Africa. This facility supply various distribution centres (DCs) and direct customer deliveries in South Africa. For the project it will be required to spend time on the warehouse floor to map and understand the processes. Project description: Determine the optimal resource requirements for the return process of the Central Distribution Centre in Gauteng which includes the following: 1. Process mapping to understand the process 2. Time study to determine the current state 3. Standard creation and optimisation 4. Determine resource requirements & optimal process 5. Optimise resource requirements according to optimal process *Returns: Pallets, good stock & bad stock What is activity-based resourcing? It is the alignment of resources to actual activities within the warehouse operation such that productivity and efficiency is maximised. Un transgénico u Organismo Modificado Genéticamente (OMG) es un organismo vivo que ha sido creado artificialmente manipulando sus genes. La manipulación genética consiste en aislar segmentos del ADN (el material genético) de un ser vivo (virus, bacteria, vegetal, animal e incluso humano) para introducirlos en el de otro. Por ejemplo, el maíz transgénico que se cultiva en España lleva genes de bacterias, para producir una sustancia insecticida. La diferencia fundamental con las técnicas tradicionales de mejora vegetal es que la manipulación genética permite franquear las barreras entre especies para crear seres vivos que no existían en la naturaleza. Se trata de un experimento a gran escala en que se nos involucra a todos en contra de nuestra voluntad. Además, la manipulación genética está basada en un modelo científico obsoleto y que está en entredicho. El sistema de evaluación de riesgos de la UE está repleto de trampas e irregularidades. Tras años de debate público, la mayoría de los ciudadanos españoles, al igual que los del resto de Europa, mantiene una actitud contraria a los transgénicos. Esta oposición ha llevado a muchas empresas a eliminar los ingredientes transgénicos de sus productos. ¿Por qué Greenpeace se opone a la liberación de transgénicos al medio ambiente?
