Rowland Date Approved: 5 September 7 2019 iii Abstract On February 19, 2009, CNBC journalist Rick Santelli’s fiery outburst against the Obama Administration on national television gave the Tea Party Movement (TPM) its namesake. Soon after rallies were organized across the U.S. under the Tea Party banner. From its inception in 2009, the TPM became an essential player in U.S. politics and pivotal in flipping control of the Senate and House to the Republican Party during the 2010 midterm elections. The movement faced controversy on both sides of the political spectrum for its beliefs and fervent stance against compromising with political adversaries. Researchers argued that the TPM was an example of Richard Hofstadter’s Paranoid Style. Others claimed that the movement’s rhetoric, member demographics, and political success demonstrated it was outside the boundaries of the Paranoid Style. -

In addition, the paper provides complete discographies, including critical commentary, of records produced by bands associated with the Bosstown Sound. The bands of the Bosstown Sound include: The Apple Pie Motherhood Band, The Bagatelle, The Beacon Street Union, Bo Grumpus, Eagle, Earth Opera, Eden's Children, Sure Looks Real, The Ill Wind, Jolliver Arkansaw, Orpheus, Phluph, Puff, and Ultimate Spinach. Tours roll across the coun- try like mobile homes in a Florida hurricane. The most memo- rable for this magazine/bar owner were the Warped Tour and Wakestock, where such bands as Bad Religion, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Closet Monster, The Trews and Crowned King had audiences in mosh-pit frenzies. At Wakestock, in Wasaga Beach, Ont., Gasoline, Fox Racing, and Bluenotes rocked so hard at their two-day private cottage party that local authorities shut down the stage after Magneta Lane and Flashlight Brown. Poor Moneen didn't get to crush the eardrums of the drunken revellers. That was day one! Day two was an even bigger party with the live music again shut down. The Reason, Moneen and Crowned King owned the patio until Alexisonfire and their crew rolled into party. Gasoline would also like to thank Chuck (see cover story) and other UN officials for making sure that the boys in Sum41 made it back to the Bovine for another cocktail, despite the nearby mortar and gunfire during their Warchild excursion. The question, however, remains as to what extent this report- ed scepticism truly reflects people’s opinions and feelings about Europe. We all consider it normal to cross borders within Europe, often while using the same money, as well as to take part in exchange programmes, invest in enterprises across Europe and appeal to European institutions if national regulations, for example, do not meet our expectations. -

2020 First Extraordinary Session ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 2 BY SENATOR CARTER AND REPRESENTATIVE LYONS A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Arthur "Art" Lanon Neville. WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the Legislature of Louisiana learned of the passing of Art Neville, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the age of eighty-one on July 22, 2019, after years of declining health; and WHEREAS, Arthur Lanon Neville was born on December 17, 1937, the son of Amelia (Landry) and Arthur Neville Sr.; and WHEREAS, he grew up in New Orleans and was a singer, songwriter, and keyboardist; and WHEREAS, Art Neville started on piano and performed with his brothers at an early age and was influenced by the R&B styles of James Booker, Bill Doggett, Booker T. Jones, Lloyd Glenn, and Professor Longhair; and WHEREAS, when in high school, he joined The Hawketts and, in 1954, recorded "Mardi Gras Mambo" that gained popularity and became a New Orleans carnival anthem; and WHEREAS, Art Neville joined the United States Navy in 1958 and returned to music in 1962; and WHEREAS, in the early 1960s, he formed the Neville Sounds which included Aaron Neville, Cyril Neville, George Porter, Leo Nocentelli, and Ziggy Modeliste playing at the Nitecap and the Ivanhoe nightclubs; and WHEREAS, Art Neville backed many notable artists such as Lee Dorsey, Betty Harris, and the Pointer Sisters; his band had a strong sense of "groove" and, unlike traditional groups, each instrument was free to lead and go anywhere musically … this style, over time, became known as "New Orleans Funk"; and WHEREAS, he was a staple of the New Orleans music scene for more than five Page 1 of 3 SCR NO.
