MTV Launches Movie Awards Takeover Week 03.23.2015 The MTV Movie Awards tends to be one of the biggest social TV events of the year and the network wants this one to be no different. This year's awards show is hosted by comedian Amy Schumer, who has been promoting her role in TV spots with movie talent including Bill Hader, Anna Kendrick, Ansel Elgort and Anthony Mackie. With plans for a live pre-show, some big movie partnerships and a Takeover Week, it's becoming clear that MTV wants every film fan to know where to be on April 12. MTV Movie Awards Takeover Week, presented by Mtn. Dew® Kickstart™, starts April 6 and features first looks and sneak peeks at the year's biggest movies. The cable net has an entire week of on-air takeovers by the casts of Spy, Trainwreck, Jurassic World and Ted 2. The network also announced plans for singer/performer Jessie J to host its 2015 MTV Movie Awards Live Pre-Show, airing that Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Jessie J will team up with MTV's very own Josh Horowitz, who will also present the first award of the night, Best Hero, which is voted on by fans across social media. During the pre-show, Cara Delevingne, Nat Wolff and author John Green will debut a sneak peek of their new movie, Paper Towns. The Movie Awards also features an All Access Live Stream, sponsored by T-Mobile, which gives fans a choice of camera angle to see all of the action on the red carpet and inside the show. MTV also just announced its Trailblazer award, this year being given to Insurgent's Shailene Woodley, who will receive the award onstage at the Movie Awards. This is the fourth time MTV has given out the award, which "recognizes actors who are blazing a distinctive and innovative path." The first three Trailblazer awards went to Emma Watson, Emma Stone and Channing Tatum. The 2015 MTV Movie Awards will air Sunday, April 12 at 8 p.m. [Image courtesy of MTV].
