The playing venues will be the Marino Cvetkovic sport hall and the brand new Gervais Culture and Tourist Centre. Please take a look at the clip to see what you can look forward to in Opatija ROLL OF HONOUR OF THE EUROPEAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2003 - 2017 Update after the mixed pairs: Justyna Zmuda and Michał Nowosadzki won their second medal already this week, a gold in the mixed pairs to add to the bronze in the mixed teams. That is Zmuda's third medal in total. She now has one of each colour. Sabine Auken has won her fourth medal, Roy Welland his third (he was among the first European Open winners – the Mixed teams in 2003). Meanwhile, Toine Van Hoof pointed out a mistake in our statistics: Wietske Van Zwol has only seven medals, but Carla Arnolds has eight. So the top of the individual medal table is: 1) Sylvie Willard 3+3+4= 10 2) Catherine D'Ovidio 4+0+4= 8 3) Carla Arnolds 3+5+0= 8 4) Bep Vriend 4+3+0= 7 5) Marion Michielsen 3+4+0= 7 6) Philippe Cronier 3+1+3= 7 7) Wietske van Zwol 1+4+2= 7 8) Anneke Simons & Jet Pasman 1+4+1= 6 10) Martine Verbeek 2+3+0= 5 11) Bénédicte Cronier 2+1+2= 5 A VIEW OF THE BRIDGE The EBL have appointed David Bird, Bill Jacobs, Larry Cohen, Graham Osborne, Mark Horton and Roland Wald to act as BBO commentators. They may be joined from time to time by Jon Cooke and Stephen Kennedy. The final had been dominated by Justyna Zmuda & Michal Klukowski and Roy Welland & Sabine Auken who had matched each other blow for blow, the lead repeatedly changing hands. When the final board settled on the table they were separated by just 0.70 of a match point. Both pairs faced tough opposition: Board 24. Dealer West. None Vul. This is partly because of the significant improvement in the BBO match- point coverage (with the ever-changing players’ names available both live and in the eventual archive).
