Weinstein Executive Director of Public Relations 937-766-8800 (o) 937-532-6885 (m) [email protected] @cedarvillenews President of 9Marks to Speak in Chapel CEDARVILLE, OHIO -- Mark Dever, president of 9Marks and senior pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington D.C., will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Chapel begins at 10 a.m. Dever will be at Cedarville Nov. 7-8 as the keynote speaker for this year’s 9Marks conference. For more information, go to the 9Marks registration page here. He has been president of 9Marks since its founding in 1998. 9Marks exists to help church leaders create healthy churches characterized by nine marks: preaching, biblical theology, the Gospel, conversion, evangelism, membership, discipline, discipleship and leadership. Dever also serves as senior pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church since 1994, located just a few blocks from the United States Capitol. Dever trains church leaders at Capitol Hill through an internship program for six men that centers around ecclesiology. He has appeared at national conferences such as the Desiring God National Conference, Ligonier Ministries Conference, the Shepherd's Conference and the Together for the Gospel Conference. Dever has a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina and a Master of Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in ecclesiastical history from Cambridge University.
