In Pre Fmine times there were Tenant farmers on the lands and these were evicted for failure to pay their stipends and the burned out remains of the crofters cottage are still to be seen on the boundaries of the Glebe lands. There were two standing stones directly in front of Glebe House and are depicted on the 1835 Ordnance Survey map as Crofters stones. Sadly only one of these stones remains on the site today.
