One such soiree takes place in the 4.4-square-mile town of Addison, which has welcomed more than half a million guests to Addison Kaboomtown for more than three decades. On July 3, make your way to one of 180 watch parties, watch the Addison Airport Show, and gaze at one of the top fireworks displays in the nation. Down in Central Texas, Belton’s annual Fourth of July parade celebrates its centennial this year. Held July 3-6, the event features a kickoff barbecue at Yet- tie Polk Park, a festival at Nolan Creek, and a three-day rodeo. The fun continues over in Round Top with a 166-year-old tradition—the oldest Fourth of July celebration west of the Mississippi. Guests enjoy an all-American parade with more than 140 floats, live music, and a barbecue lunch provided by the area’s Rifle Association. addisonkaboomtown.com; rodeobelton.com; roundtop.com PHOTOS: Kevin Stillman SUMMER 2019 | Texas Highways Events Calendar 1 Summer 2019 SUMMER 2019 JUNE • JULY • AUGUST FIND EVENTS EVENTSC A L E N D A R ONLINE For more fun things CALENDAR AT A GLANCE to do this summer, visit texashighways.com JUNE JULY AUGUST FESTIVALS, CONCERTS, EXHIBITS, PARADES, AND ALL THINGS SNAPSHOT Addison Kaboomtown FUN IN TEXAS!
