Formation of new chapter: formation of Solid State Circuit Chapter has been approved. ComSoc Kolkata Chapter is the winner of the 2015 Chapter Achievement Award, Asia Pacific Region PES Kolkata Chapter got the High Performance Chapter Award for 2014. Prof. Sanghamitra Bandopadhyay has been appointed as Director of ISI . Prof. Debatosh Guha has been appointed as HAL Chair Professor of IIT, Kharagpur. IEEE member Prof. Rabindra Kishore Mishra has received INSA Teacher Award 2015 Prof. Amitava Chatterjee has been recognized as “Best Performing Associate Editor for 2015” by IEEE Sensors Journal IEEE Kolkata Section this year introduced “ Early Membership Renewal Award” Convolution-2015 – a student programme was organized by the students of Electrical Engineering Department, JU. This Year Kolkata Section has recognised the efforts made by its members by awarding personalized plaque. National Workshop titled “Generation of Antenna Research and GTLM (GARG)” organized by IEEEAP-MTT Chapter, Kolkata Section at CRNN, CU on 7th – 8th May, 2015 to felicitate Prof. Ramesh Garg. Prof. Garg delivered a tutorial on Characteristic Modes National Workshop titled “DRA RESEARCH: An Experience Over the Last Decade” organized by IEEEAP-MTT Chapter, Kolkata Section at CRNN, CU on 15th May, 2015. National workshop titled “Innovation in Dielectric Resonator Antenna” was organized by KIIT University Bhubaneswar, Odisha and IEEE AP-MTT Chapter, Kolkata Section on 4th – 5th July, 2015. Indian Antenna Week (IAW 2015) held at Ajmer in Rajasthan, India during 30 May 2015 to 03 June 2015 organized by the Department of Electronics Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Government Engineering College, Ajmer, Rajasthan Applied Electromagnetics Conference (AEMC 2015) held during December 18-21, 2015 at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), Educational Activity: lecture meeting on 18th March organized by AP-MTT Chapter along with Photonics Chapter, IEEE Kolkata Section at Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, CU lecture meeting was organized by the chapter on 24th March at Dept. of ETCE, JU Lecture meeting was also organized by the AP-MTT Kolkata Chapterin association with Department of ECE, Netaji Subhash Engineering College on 15th July, 2015 Lecture meeting was organized by the AP-MTT Chapter on Surface Integrated Waveguide at the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta on 16th October. RengarajanProfessor, Department of ECE,California State University IEEE APS Distinguished Lecture Program was organized by IEEE AP-MTT Chapter, Kolkata Section in association with IEEE Kharagpur section at IIT, Kharagpur on 24th September at the IIT Kharagpur premises. The lecture was delivered by the AP-S Distinguished Lecturer, Dr. Sudhakar Rao from Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, USA. Sight Project: AP/MTT Chapter was complemented by the AP Society with two special projects on SIGHT (Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology). The chapter organized a SIGHT Panel Discussion in conjunction with CODEC 2015 on December 16, 2015,atSwissotel, Kolkata, Another AP-S SIGHT event which included Amateur Radio Session, Demo & Training Session was organized by IEEE AP/MTT Chapter in association with IEEE Student Branch IIT Guwahati during December 18-21, 2015 at IIT Guwahati, Assam, India in conjunction with AEMC 2015.
