Hockey Sports Performance Director: Dr. Susan Hoppe Resident Athletic Trainer: Cole Harding THE COACH: The reigning USCHO.com National Coach Strength and Conditioning Coach: Jason Aldrich of the Year and winningest head coach in team history, Equipment Manager: Chris Garner Scott Sandelin is in his 19th season behind the UMD Director of Hockey Operations: Christian Koelling bench where he has compiled a 352-306-87 overall record -- including a 105-61-20 mark (a .618 win- ning percentage) since the 2014-15 opener. Besides capturing the school’s first two NCAA championships (2011 and 2018), his Bulldogs have won 21 or more games in seven of the last 10 seasons while finishing below the .500 mark just one time over that stretch. Overall, they’ve advanced to eight NCAA tournaments (2004, 2009, 2011,2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), including the last four in a row (a program record),four NCAA Frozen Fours (2004, 2011, 2017 and 2018) and three NCHC Frozen Faceoff tourneys (2016 , 2017 -- when UMD won it all -- and 2018). Before UMD parted ways with the WCHA following the 2012-13 season, Sandelin had directed his troops to berths in seven of 11 Final Five playoff events. In 2003-04, Sandelin, 53, turned UMD into a NCAA Frozen Four participant for the first time in nearly a generation, marshaling all games -- nearly doubling the number of victories sociation. He capped off his four-year playing career his troops to their most victories (they were 28-13-4 from the previous season (7-28-4).
