EBC at Active Prayer Lord of all eagerness, be there at our labours & our merry making. We praise You for all the abilities & skills You have given us and ask they may be fully used as You direct. We remember all who have regular employment, that they are conscientious & reliable. For those who have not, that they may be patient and persistent in their job seeking. May those made redundant or retired early who have financial or other problems, have courage to re-adjust to a new lifestyle. May all with time on their hands make adventurous but not reckless plans for holidays & entertainment, that integrity and honesty may prevail. Above all, bless Your people in all their living of the life of body, mind & spirit. Amen.

There is a short Communion Service every Thursday at 12.00 noon.

Various Study Groups meet throughout the month: please speak to Maureen Thompson if you would like to find a group to join.

A Message from Jean Andrews

Just to say a huge thank-you to the deacons and everyone at EBC for allowing me some compassionate leave to try and recover from whatever I have! As I write this I am looking forward to some rest (mental and spiritual as well as physical). I look forward to being back with you in early May and, hopefully, I will feel ready to continue working with you as together we bring the gospel of Christ to those who work and live in Eynsham.

The series of Evenlode walks started at the source, near Bourton-on-the Hill in November 2011.

This will be the seventh and final stage of the 39 mile walk and a total of 31 walkers from Eynsham, the Baptist Church and further afield have taken part. There have been many highlights along the way including a 'front seat' view of the Sezincote Hunt visits to churches dating back to the 12th century, sightings of a variety of wildlife and of course not using waterproofs on any of the walks!

The final section of the walk will take us from the centre of Church Hanborough, past City Farm and through the grounds of Eynsham Mill to the Cassington Lane. We have been given permission by the owners to access the land around Cassington Mill to reach the point where the Evenlode river flows into the Thames. After a view of a disused canal built by a former Duke of Marlborough, we will complete the walk via tracks to the Talbot Inn Eynsham. There will be an option for lunch at the Talbot Inn and a possible breakfast at the Hand and Shears, Church Hanborough.

Please contact Harold on Oxford 881869 for further details of the walk and meeting arrangements.

The photograph was taken at Adlestrop during the second stage of the Evenlode River walk.
