Kim just loves cooking! KIM'S Kitchen, at the Pack Horse Inn, is a Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant and takeaway in the heart of Culcheth. Kim moved to England from Vietnam some years ago and now lives in the village with her three young boys. She loves cooking, enjoys the Culcheth lifestyle and has made lots of friends who appreciate what a good cook she is. Kim's restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday and Kim also offers a takeaway and delivery service. She offers a family run service and because everything is cooked to order, provides a menu that caters for all requirements - family meals, house specials and a children's menu. Kim has settled in nicely at the Pack Horse - which is owned by Monica, Carol, Colin and Ken - and has the backing of loyal customers, many of who have followed her to the Pack Horse having tasted her cuisine previously. She said: "I look forward to welcoming new customers to try my Oriental cuisine." Pages:Pages 23/04/2010 11:17 Page 8

Advertiser’s announcement Time to spring clean your oven AFTER the harsh winter months hard working ovens are probably now due for a spring clean more than ever before, according to Paul Clark from professional oven valeters Ovenu. As outside temperatures plummeted to record levels many people turned to their ovens for hot wholesome meals leaving high levels of grease and debris lurking behind the door. Tackling the oven is still one of the most loathed household chores. If people are not thorough with their oven cleaning, fat and food can cause future problems, which could result in an oven =re. Paul added: "There was a huge amount of love for over-worked ovens during the cold Winter, but people don't realise that the more you use your oven the more debris and grease can start to build up and this can affect its ef=ciency. "By regularly cleaning and maintaining an oven, it will ensure it performs at its best and even help prolong its life, and not need to replace it as often." The whole process takes around three hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition. Joint surgery success

COUNCILLORS and police have been helping the public with their enquiries at a series of joint surgeries held in Culcheth. Local police ofOcers and borough councillors from Culcheth and Croft have been working together over the past few months holding surgeries at Age Concern, Jackson Avenue. The sessions, on the third Saturday of the month, are between 10.30 and 11.30am. PCSO Steve Dodd said: "The surgery is like a one-stop-shop where local residents can call in and discuss problems that are affecting them or their community. "By having the opportunity to speak to the councillors as well as ourselves at the same time means we can often work out an action plan to resolve the problem there and then." Coun Les Hoyle said: "It is important that we all work together in partnership to address the concerns of the community. "So far the members of the public who have attended have been pleased that we have addressed the issues that they raised. Often people attend with what they believe will be a police issue but in fact can be dealt with by the council." Pages:Pages 23/04/2010 11:17 Page 13
