Dunmore, PA – Below you will find the road report for the week of June 21 - June 25, 2021. The first set of information is our short-term projects and standard of care maintenance projects. The second set of information is our long-term projects which will be updated as work within the project changes.
Baseball is back: Please note there will be traffic issues at Davis Street, I-81 and Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, at the beginning and end of the games. Home games Saturday, June 19 game starts at 6:05 PM and Sunday, June 20 game starts at 1:05 PM. Next homes games will be July 6 through July 11.
There will be a concert at the Pavilion at Montage on Saturday, June 19 starting at 6:00 PM. Please note that a baseball game and a concert will be going on Saturday, June 19.

Indefinitely 4/5- 7:00 AM - 5:00 6006 Lackawanna Carbondale Single Lane Closure SR 6006 Bridge Replacement 10/2021 PM The proposed project consists of bituminous pavement resurfacing, signal improvements, provide ADA compliant handicap accessible curb ramps, drainage, cement concrete curb & sidewalks, temporary traffic control, pavement markings, signs, traffic signals, fencing, and other miscellaneous construction work. The Intermittent Lane purpose of the project is to maintain the existing roadway for motorists, improve 7:00 AM - 5:00 Main Ave Lackawanna Dickson City Closure turning movements at various intersections between Schiffs and Dundaff Street. 2020-2022 PM PennDOT will start work on the bridge located at SR 6 and SR 11 traveling from Clarks Summit towards the Viewmont Mall. Work will begin on Monday, April 19th. The bridge will be down to one lane during construction. Work will through Clarks the summer months. During construction the ramp leaving Clarks Summit will Summit/Dickson closed and traffic will be detoured down to Providence Road, Scranton and back 6 & 11 Lackawanna City Lane Restriction on the North Scranton Expressway. Fall 2021 Day/Night 1037 (Dundaff SR 1037 (Dundaff Street) in Dickson City due to flood damage 7:00 AM - 5:00 Street) Lackawanna Dickson City Road Closed TBD PM There is a lane restriction on SR 3013 (Main Avenue) Scranton, Lackawanna County from the intersection of Jackson St. to West Linden St. for gas line replacement. The work will continue through June 2021 from 7:00 AM to 6:00 3013 (Main PM. Flaggers are in place. Motorists are advised to use caution and use Avenue) Lackawanna Scranton Single Lane Closure alternate routes. Temporary bridge deck work, installation of drainage basins, installation of piers. The I-84 over Lackawanna Railroad/Roaring Brook and SR 435 Section 282 project includes the replacement of three bridge structures and associated 7:00 AM - 5:00 I-84 Lackawanna/Wayne Single Lane Closure roadway work on I-84 and SR 435. This is the Twin Bridge Project. April 2026 PM Shoulder work and deck patching. Work will be completed using short-term lane Summer 7:00 AM - 6:00 I-84 EB 3.5-5.5 Lackawanna/Wayne Lane Restriction closures. 2021 PM Work in this area is both Eastbound and Westbound and will consist of milling and paving of roadway along with bridge repairs. The lane restrictions will start approximately 2.5 miles East of the Mount Cobb exit and continue to just past the 7:00 AM - 5:00 I-84 EB/WB Lackawanna/Wayne Lane Restriction Newfoundland exit. November PM MM 6 to Contractor will be setting up a long-term lane closure to complete bridge work and 7:00 AM - 6:00 I-84 WB 3.5 Lackawanna/Wayne Lane Restriction paving. June 2021 PM I-80 East to I-81 to Carbon County Line, Single Lane restriction for Guild Rail Carbon County Replacement. Works begins on Sunday Night and goes to Friday morning each 7:00 PM - 6:00 I-80 & I-81 Luzerne Line Lane Restriction week. PM
Starting on Monday, June 14 contractors will be working on I-81/SR 115. Work will continue on the interchange. Time of work to be announced. I-81/SR 115 Luzerne This project also contains ramp paving and concrete patching which will require Sugarloaf detours around the 81/80 interchange. The remaining work is to complete the on 7:00 AM - 7:00 I-80/I-81 Luzerne Township the ramps and guide rail. PM PennDOT will begin construction of a culvert replacement on SR 118 Lehman Lehman Township, Luzerne County. The project is 1.4 miles west of Intersection of SR October 7:00 AM - 5:00 SR 118 Luzerne Township 415. The work started on April 5 and should run through the fall of 2021. 2021 PM
PennDOT will begin bridge repair projects on SR 309, Kingston Township, Luzerne County on Monday, May 17, 2021. The work for one project will be done in the area of Newell Fuel and Back Mountain Car Wash. The work location for the second project is located by Carmix Auto Sales and Lewith & Freeman Real Estate. The contractor will be doing bridge repairs on two structures with the contractor work, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a Kingston long term project with a tentative completion date is October 2021. To keep two 309 Luzerne Township Lane Restriction lanes of traffic open in both directions, the center turning lane will be eliminated. Oct-21 6:00 AM-6:00 PM Columbia Replacement of guiderail starting Tuesday June 1. The work will continue County/and Monday through Thursday for the next several weeks from the Columbia to Carbon Count Carbon County line on I-80 in Luzerne County. The work also includes the ramps 7:00 AM - 5:00 Luzerne Line Lane Restriction on I-80 and I-81 junction. 6/1/2021 PM The Project involves the replacement of a existing culvert and minor roadway/shoulder widening. The contractor thinks that pending weather conditions and subcontractors mobilization it should be completed by the end of August. The detour will begin on July 7, 2021. Detour 0239 will be posted - North Bound - Right Turn at SR 4035 Register Road ahead to a Left Turn at the Intersection of SR 4018 ahead to SR 4010, continue straight on 4018 to the Intersection of 4018 + 0239. The Detour ends at that Intersection and the Columbia County Line. Length 3.1 Miles. Reverse for South Bound. Pending 7:00 AM to 5:00 239 Luzerne Road Closed operations, the detour is scheduled thru 09/20/21 7/7-9/20/21 PM
For the rehabilitation and improvement of a certain section of State Highways in Luzerne County, in Various Municipalities, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Bridges are on I-81, 7:00 AM to 5:00 I-81/115/309 Luzerne Lane Restriction SR 115 and SR 309 Cross Valley. 11/21/2021 PM The project consists of the reconstruction of Interstate I-84. The project length is approx. 8 miles. I-84 will be under a long-term restriction from mile marker 17 to 26 EB and WB. Westbound traffic will cross over in a single lane pattern onto the Green, Eastbound lanes. Traffic will be single lane from mile marker 18.5 to 22.0. There 2020- Palmyra, will be long-term single lane closures on I-84 EB and WB between Exits 17 Summer 7:00 AM - 5:00 I-84 17-26 Pike/Wayne Sterling Single Lane Closure (Newfoundland/Hamlin) and 26 (Promised Land/Tafton) (mile markers 18.5 to 26). 2023 PM SR 1009 in Harmony Township, Susquehanna County will be closed between Depot Street and King Hill Road due to an embankment slide. The detour was implemented on April 2nd at 5pm and will remain in place Segment Harmony until repairs can be completed. Updated on Tuesday, April 13 SR 1009 will 7:00 AM - 5:00 SR 1009 160 Susquehanna Township Closed reopen with a single lane, stop sign condition. TBD PM
PennDOT will begin on Monday, June 7 pothole patching on SR 81 southbound in Susquehanna county from the NY border down to New Milford exit. They will be setting up a daylight pattern closing a lane at a time. The segment will be from 2324/1336 to 2235/2028. The pothole work will take about two weeks and then New Milford to milling work will begin. Paving should be in August. The project should be 6/7- 7:00 AM to 5:00 I-81 S Susquehanna NY Border Single Lane Closure completed by October 2021. 10/1/2021 PM
Oakland Twp. SR 1010 Bridge Replacement. Bridge over Lewis Creek. Work is ongoing and is scheduled to be completed 10/15/21. Work hours are Monday – Oakland Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Expect minor delays. 7:00 AM - 5:00 1010 Susquehanna Township 10/15/2021 PM Great Bend Twp. SR 1033. Box Culvert. Work is ongoing and scheduled to be completed 11/15/21. One lane traffic with signals will be in effect the week of Great Bend 6/21/21. Work hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 5:00pm. Expect minor 7:00 AM - 5:00 1033 Susquehanna Township delays. 11/15/2021 PM Great Bend Borough. SR 0011 Over CNYK RR. Bridge repairs. Work is ongoing Great Bend and scheduled to be complete 7/24/21. Work hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm 7:00 AM - 5:00 11 Susquehanna Borough Monday – Friday. Temporary lane restrictions with minimal impact on traffic. 07/24/201 PM Skinners Falls bridge is closed until further notice. A PEL Study is being completed. Public input is being accepted until April 30, 2021. TBD N/A Dyberry 4003 Wayne Township Closed Closed for bridge repairs until further notice. Detour is in place. June 2021 N/A SR 292, Falls, Wyoming County is closed between the intersection of SR 2006 (School House Rd), Center Moreland to the intersection of SR 92 Falls for an Exeter emergency pipe replacement. The work should take one month. All work is 7:00 AM - 5:00 292 Wyoming Township Road Closed weather dependent. A car and truck detour is in place. TBD PM SR 1025 (Station Hill Road) near the intersection of SR 11 and SR 92, Nicholson Borough is closed for bridge repairs. Replacement of bridge will begin in the spring of 2021. The detour is as follows: From SR 1025, make a left on SR 92 North Left on SR 1027, continue straight on Pratt Hollow Road (Wyoming to Susquehanna County) Left on Schoolhouse Road. Left on SR 2017, continue straight to SR 1025. Update as on May 2021: The RR held a preconstruction meeting on this structure recently. Their engineers are now concerned that the November bridge may need more than repairs, and that it could possibly need to be fully 2020 to 1025(Station Nicholson replaced. If that is the case, the bridge could be closed until sometime next year. Spring of 7:00 AM - 5:00 Hill Road) Wyoming Borough Detour 2021 PM
Contractors will begin work on the rehabilitation on the bridge over the lake at the Lackawanna State Park on SR 407, North Abington Township, Lackawanna County. The work began on Monday, June 6, 2021. The project involves bridge rehabilitation to an existing three span spread box beam bridge. Bridge rehabilitation activities include replacing the existing deteriorated concrete bridge deck with a new continuous 8” minimum concrete bridge deck/superstructure, updated parapets, beam end repairs, substructure repairs, rock protection, approach paving, and updated guiderail. The contractor will work till mid- November and reopen the bridge to all traffic till April 2022. The work will be completed in the April 2022. The work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.. All work is related to weather conditions. Traffic control Lackawanna North Abington during construction will be with temporary signals. There will no detour. 7:00 AM to 5:00 407 County Township Traffic control signals 04/22 PM
