ABOUT US National Records of Scotland (NRS) is a Non-Ministerial Department (NMD) within the Scottish Administration (but is not an integral part of the Scottish Government). It is headed by a Chief Executive who fulfils the role of two non-ministerial office-holders, the Registrar General for Scotland and the Keeper of the Records of Scotland.
