It is crucial for airlines, which are one of the most important shareholders in the transportation sector, to be recognized and reliable in order to have a place in the market. For this reason, different companies prepare and share a world airline ranking with public each year. These rankings are prepared using different criteria and methodologies. Hence, each of these rankings differs from each other. This study considers the Best Airline Ranking prepared by Airhelp in 2018. The first 15 airlines in this ranking are re-ranked with the EVAMIX method using unused criteria and the results are compared with the Best Airline Ranking. In the conclusion of the study, it is found out that rankings changed significantly; hence, it is greatly important to determine what is desired to measure when the airlines are compared. INTRODUCTION It is of importance to meet the changing consumer demands, reach and serve more customers in the aviation sector as in all other sectors. -

Journal of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels-University of Sadat City, Vol. 4, Issue (2/1), December, 2020 Aviation Rankings' Misjudgment: Inspiration of Egypt Air and Cairo International Airport Cases 1Farouk Abdelnabi Hassanein Attaalla 1Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Fayoum University Abstract This study aims to make a comprehensive assessment of the three most popular aviation rankings; Skytrax, AirHelp and TripAdvisor from a critical perspective supported by a global field study conducted in the same methodology as these three rankings have been done. This study is based on the descriptive statistics to analyze field data gathered about EgyptAir and other airlines, Cairo International Airport and other airports and comparing these results with what is published in these three rankings in 2018. The current study reveals that the results of these three global rankings are characterized by shortcomings and lack of value and unfairness. Finally, the study suggests a model for fairness and equity in the rankings of airlines and airports. Keywords: Air Rankings, Egypt Air, Cairo International Airport, Equity. 1- Introduction Through scanning the international airlines and airports rankings for the recent five years from 2013 to 2018, it is found that no understandable and embarrassing absence for Egypt Air (MS) and Cairo International Airport (CAI). However, Arabic airlines and Airports such as Qatar Airways, Emirates Airways, Oman Air, Etihad Airways, Saudia Airlines, Royal Jordanian and Air Maroc, Hamad International Airport and Queen Alia International Airport have occupied different ranks through these years. Their ranks may be one of the top 10 airline and airport positions, while others occupy one of the top 100 airlines and airports in the world. -

Objective To illustrate how the advancement of technology played a significant part - along with the British Prime Minister’s leadership - in the Battle of Britain during World War II. Overview This lesson provides an overview of the German territorial expansion that happened in Europe during the 1930’s leading up to the onset of World War II along with a review of key leaders. Students will watch two short videos that focus on the key technologies that were developed to help the British military defend their homeland against Germany during the Battle of Britain. After viewing both videos, students will work with a partner to discuss and answer specific questions related to the videos. The focus will be on the importance of technology in winning the Battle of Britain tied in with the leadership of Winston Churchill. After France fell in 1940, Hitler turned his attention to invading Great Britain, the only Western European country standing against him. Prior to the attempted invasion, Germany’s Air Force—also called the Luftwaffe—tried to establish air superiority over Great Britain. The fate of Britain rested in the hands of Royal Air Force (RAF) pilots flying Hawker Hurricanes and Supermarine Spitfires. During July, August, and September of 1940, the RAF and Luftwaffe tangled in the skies above Britain. RAF pilots destroyed almost 3,000 German aircraft. Although the Spitfire has a more iconic reputation, the Hurricane scored almost 60% of those victories. Failing to gain air superiority, Hitler did not invade Great Britain. -

During the celebrated Schneider Trophy races, both R. J. Mitchell and Dr Mario Castoldi would design two of the most impressive aircraft the world has ever seen. Powered by the Rolls-Royce R engine, Mitchell’s Supermarine S 6B would claim the prize for Britain once and for all on The Spitfire’s ancestry can be traced directly to the Supermarine S 6B Schneider Trophy winner of 1931. Creating the seaplane, powered by a Rolls-Royce R engine, provided both Supermarine and Rolls- Royce with a sound grounding for the future development of both the Spitfire and the Merlin engine. This particular example, S1596 (the second S 6B built), broke the world air speed record on 29 September 1931 when Flt Lt George Stainforth reached 407.5mph whilst at the controls. 4 (Crown Copyright) © Osprey Publishing • www.ospreypublishing.com 13 September 1931 when the floatplane achieved a top speed of 380mph. Taxes in the Field of Aviation and Their Impact
Executive summary Aviation has a unique fiscal regime. On the one hand, in many countries it is subject to specific taxes and charges, such as a departure tax or a solidarity levy . On the other hand, aviation fuel is generally exempt from excise duty and many countries exempt tickets from VAT or apply a zero VAT rate in case of international aviation . This study has made an inventory of taxes In the EU and selected non-EU countries . It has also estimated economic and environmental impacts of these taxes and of tax exemptions and provides an excel table to simulate certain effects of taxation on the economy. In EU Member States, VAT or other taxes on domestic aviation are the most prevalent and exist in 17 Member States. Six Member States levy taxes on international aviation, invariably in the form of ticket taxes for passengers departing from airports in the Member State . Figure 1 shows the average aviation taxes per passenger in the EU, defined as the total receipts of aviation taxes divided by the total number of passengers . Error!
