MINUTES Minutes of the January 18, 2007 meeting were recommended for approval. A motion was made by Herb Resler; seconded by Phillip Gardner; motion passed 17-0. CERTIFY THE RESULTS OF SPECIAL ELECTION FOR DISTRICT II, CLASS AAAA SEAT Commissioner Ress presented the results of the special election for the IHSAA Executive Committee seat for District II, Class AAAA seat. Tom Jarvis, Muncie Central HS 30 Chuck Jones, North Central (Indpls.) HS 25 Frank Sergi, Franklin Central HS 26 John J. Williams, Carmel HS 34 John J. Williams was elected to fill a seat that is currently open. Mr. Williams’ term will run until June 30, 2008. A motion to certify the election results was made by Randy Barrett; seconded by Mike Whitten; motion passed 17-0. 2007 BASEBALL TOURNAMENT SERIES Associate Commissioner Craft reported on the general format, sites and other preliminary plans for the 2007 Baseball Tournament Series. Listed below are the proposed host sites: Sectionals Sectional tournament play must begin on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2007. The winner of even number sectionals will serve as host sites for the regional. Semi-State Semi-state games, with four teams per site, will be played on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at eight sites. 4A Evansville North (Bosse Field) 4A South Bend Clay (Loeb Stadium) 3A Jasper (Ruxter Field) 3A Plymouth 2A Southridge 2A Lafayette Jefferson 1A Avon 1A Kokomo State Finals – Victory Field, Indianapolis Friday, June 15, 2007 Game 1 – 7:00pm Saturday, June 16, 2007 Game 2 – 1:00pm Game 3 – 4:00pm Game 4 – 8:00pm The State Championships in each of the four classes will be contested at Victory Field on Friday and Saturday, June 15- 16, 2007. A motion to approve the recommendations for the 2007 Baseball Tournament Series was made by Phil DeLong; seconded by Dick Tobias; motion passed 17-0. 2007 TRACK & FIELD TOURNAMENT SERIES Assistant Commissioner Cox reported on the general format, sites and other preliminary plans for the 2007 Track & Field Tournament Series.
