Our new junior program offering free Thursday afternoon training at Keysborough College has grown quickly and comprises nearly 50 young children from surrounding schools. These children are really enjoying their time at training and we hope to get some of them 'game ready' by the time term 3 rolls around. Many thanks to Maurice Alvarez, Jo Ellis and Kevin Benn for the hard work being put into this program, keep up the great work. Unfortunately, clubs like ours just don’t grow on their own! To make our club bigger & stronger we need the voluntary help of as many parents and individuals as possible. Please contact the club if you would like to help in any way, provide a service we might be able to use, or may want to “have a say” and join the committee. Any assistance is very much appreciated. Endeavour Hills C O U G A R VOLUME 2, ISSUE 2 P A G E 3 Endeavour Hills P A G E 4 VJBL-Season 2013 Under 14-1 I have been told about the dreaded Cougars curse, being ahead all game and losing it in the last quarter by a point or two. Unfortunately it appeared to have passed down to our number 1 under 14 boy’s team. After tonight’s round we have won four games and lost 5. The games we have lost have seriously only been by one or two points and we have been up until the end of the third quarter. f you look at the points for (382) and points against (358) you would think we would be on top of the ladder. We have actually scored the most points out of all the teams!! Our boys are on the young side of the under 14’s and most have not played rep basketball before, so they are doing a magnificent job. Under the one and only Mo’s guidance we think we have found a method to overcome the curse. We play each quarter as if it is a new game and it is starting to work. The boys should finish round 10 in 5th place and Obstacles don't have to each new week sees them stepping up the ladder. Jo Ellis-Team Manager stop you. Jodie Campain—Team Manager Under 16-2 So far through the first half of the Cougars two under sixteen boys season the team has had a number of close games that have not gone our way. Unfortunately the team has had one of our players with a plaster cast on his arm, Justin Tchia, recently unavailable to play.
