It is a great privilege to gather and share stories on this beautiful territory, which has been the site of human activity — and therefore storytelling — for many thousands of years. We wish to honour the ancestral guardians of this land and its waterways: the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Wendat, and the Attiwonderonk. Apart from being great fun and featuring terrific performances, this is a profound story. At its centre is Horton the Elephant’s assertion that "a person’s a person no matter how small". Obviously, these are words to live by. They are also a call to action for young people – to think and care about those who are sometimes forgotten or unseen. We hope Seussical inspires all audience members, young and not so young, to be conscious of the impact of their actions. Think how much better the world would be. To quote another song from the show "Oh the thinks you can think – if you’re willing to try..." Our show runs through the Holidays with public performances every day between December 27th and 31st. Perhaps you know someone for whom Seussical tickets would make a great gift! We wish you the very best for the Holidays and the New Year to come. ALLEN MACINNIS NANCY J. Whether this story is new to you… or whether this outing is a nostalgic trip down memory lane, we know you will enjoy yourselves immensely! This season, YPT’s theme explores how young people take matters into their own hands to repair things and to create change in their lives. Here is a prime example: two children write their own advertisement for a nanny. Because life in their home has become a little bit upside-down. Their inventive job-posting attracts the practically perfect – and just a bit tricky – Mary Poppins… who does more for them and their parents than they could ever have imagined. Thanks for joining us. We hope to see you throughout our season! ALLEN MACINNIS NANCY J. Looking back, the past year has been at times both challenging and rewarding as our company continues to grow and to add new and exciting initiatives to our slate.
