This is the 10th year anniversary of the Allied Memorial Remembrance Ride as it recognizes the Royal Air Force. The ride began at the New River Fellowship located at 930 Winscott Road in Benbrook at 8 a.m. It then made a stop at the T.A. Petrol Station at Interstate 20 and Bonnie View in Dallas at 9:15 a.m. The ride stopped at the Tanger Outlett Mall on Interstate 20 and Highway 34 in Terrell to meet with the East Texas Riders. At 10:10 a.m. the ride continued to the British Museum. The riders held a memorial service for all the fallen allied warriors from the past to the present at the British Museum. 37th Terrell Civic Auction The 37th annual Terrell civic auction will be on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Cow- boy Collection Arena in Terrell. This year’s theme is “Chamber and the Choco- late Factor y’. Tickets are $40, reservation required, which include dinner, beverages, auc- tion and fun. There will be $10,000 drawing and there will be only 300 tickets sold. Flights Of Our Fathers Fly In 11th annual event and Air Show The eleventh annual Flights Of Our Fathers Fly In, benefiting the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Terrell Municipal Airport, just north of Interstate 20 on State Highway 34. It will include a salute to veterans of all branches of the armed services; rec- ognize the honor and valor of fallen servicemen and women, and the ultimate sacrifice of five young men from the City of Terrell. This year’s event will have Fighter Jets’ Randy Ball and Greg Howell in their twin MiG-17Fs. Other aerobatic performances will include a P-51 Mustang (Pe- cos Bill), Carl Best’s T-6, formation flying team Falcon Flight, and many others. There will be static aircraft displays, food court, vendors and a number of family-friendly activities. Gates open at 8:15 a.m. with the posting of American, British and Canadian flags, and close at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are sold at the gate: $10 per person or $20 per carload.
