Brenda to confirm CIPC Tues. 17th Sep. 2019 contact details with Darren Member Agency Annie (SHSCT): Continuing to work with Autism Families, co-ordinating meetings with various support groups Updates & Emerging in the Trust area and aiming to establish a year-long programme - Further details to follow. Newtownhamilton Needs in South inter-agency group meeting pending. Newry Inter-Agency group: a drop-in clinic is planned for Newry Town Armagh Hall, with weekly themes envisaged, e.g. housing, education. Interpreters are a key cost consideration. Rhiannon (Clanrye Group): Family support busy. ICT Customer Service courses will be back in the new year. Volunteer starting to deliver art therapy. Allison (SPACE): Currently delivering a young men’s programme in partnership with Youth Action, for early teens – 9 participants, now in week 3. Parents Plus Adolescent programme (RE: teens) will be running in the new year. 18 families currently registered from South Armagh area. Over the last year over 30% of referrals to the Family Support Hub from the South Armagh area. Currently supporting 3 families from the South Armagh area who have children with disabilities. Currently operating a waiting list RE: their Friends programme (2 starting in January). Secretary of State recently visited SPACE, to discuss the impact of a No Deal Brexit with local community, statutory & voluntary organisation representatives - A very positive meeting took place. 1 Agenda Item Discussion Action – By Whom Member Agency Stevie (PSNI): Attended 5 residential summers schemes, with the EA – Newtownhamilton & Bessbrook T- Updates & Emerging BUCs finished on Monday. Continuing to deliver school road safety programmes in the area. Hoping to run Needs in South Kids Courts on 16th/17th Dec. in St. Laurence O’Toole’s P.S. Ongoing internet safety workshops being Armagh delivered, with a focus on mental health incorporated. Fireworks talks delivered & packs distributed over the (Continued from Halloween period. Bulgarian Family Christmas th Party also taking place in N/Hamilton CC on 18 Dec. Rosie (EA Youth Service): Most youth work programmes ongoing. Emerging need: exam stress. Cross- border workshop / event, developed by young people, focusing on safety on a night out recently took place Rosie & Darren to further and was very successful. South Armagh LPG Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Action Plan Update ‘Resilience’ DVD screening recently delivered, in partnership with Tusla / CAWT MACE, in Carrickmacross Contact Darren RE: (Audience: 15/16 year old girls). screenings ACEs Awareness Training taking place in The Jethro Centre in Lurgan (Levels 1 & 2) on 21st Nov. & Tower Hill in Armagh (Level 2) on 28th Nov. - Aimed at C&V sectors, but statutory organisations on waiting list Joanne to re-circulate Community Resiliency Training being delivered by Barnardo’s Nova in Banbridge Enterprise Centre on 2nd ACES / Resilience training Dec. Currently a lengthy waiting list (Further similar training opportunities to be confirmed if made available). flyers & MH&EW Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Service Resource: submissions have been requested - Deadline: Resource template 22nd Nov. th Infant Mental Health Strategy launch taking place on 29 Nov. (See recent ‘FYI’ for further details on event.) Supporting Families CYPSP Newcomer Task & Finish Group meeting on 22nd Feb, Chaired by Jacqueline Masterson (SHSCT), to discuss pending needs assessment which will consider all newcomer families. ABC Council starting to gather info. RE: a newcomer pack which will be produced for new families to the area. To be shared with the group when available for member’s information and good practice. 2 Agenda Item Discussion Action – By Whom Darren recently attending the Council of Europe’s Children’s Rights Conference and has brought back some Joanne to share DOSTA! useful resources RE: DOSTA! and INSCHOOL initiatives. & INSCHOOL links Recent feedback from Home-Start indicates that Universal Credit, budgeting & internet safety are major issues for families. Discussion with Credit Union and Citizen’s Advice on prospective initiative Family Support Hub Average of 23 to 24 referrals per month. Update Per recent review, 7% of referrals received last year from parents, compared to a figure of 21% for this year, indicating increased awareness of the hub on the part of parents / carers. Largest referral group is boys aged 8 to 12. Support gap RE: siblings of children with disabilities. New more family-friendly FSH info. leaflets currently being designed. Review RE: FSH Standards taking place tomorrow. Review of LPG Members asked to let CYPSP know of any statutory, voluntary or community organisations or services who Membership would be relevant to invite to future LPG meetings. Any updates to current list (provided in hard copy) to be confirmed via e-mail. Southern Area Feedback will be provided on Newcomer and Young People’s Voice (Chaired by Dara O’Hagan from Clanrye Outcomes Group Group) Task & Finish Group on an ongoing basis. Update CYPSP Evidence-Based Parenting Support Programme website (www.cypsp.org/ebpp) live. LPG Meetings 2020 Dates for 2020 South Armagh LPG meetings proposed by Darren.
