Matangi Private Island Resort Taveuni Fiji Islands Location: FIJI - NORTHERN GROUP Class: 4.5 Star Matangi Private Island Resort is a tropical luxury resort for those who want to indulge in relaxation, rejuvenation and adventure in a setting created to be in harmony with the environment and local culture. Imagine waking each morning in a beautiful treehouse to the gentle sound of lapping waves at the beach in front and birdcalls from the lush rainforest behind. While you breakfast on luscious tropical fruits, you enjoy 270- degree views of the ocean and Matangi’s exquisitely landscaped tropical gardens and ponder the choices for the day ahead. The resort caters for adults (16yrs and older) only. How to Get There The Resort is accessible via Taveuni Island Matei Airport, 8 miles West of Matangi Island. Air Transfer – Fiji Link has daily services with a flight time of approximately 90 minutes from Nadi Airport or 60 minutes from Suva. Resort Operated Transfers – All guests are met on arrival by the Resort’s mini van driver for their car transfer to the landing for their boat transfer across to Matangi Island. Car & boat transfers take approximately 45-minutes. Transfers must be booked and will be provided by the Resort. Matangi will pick up and drop off at the Taveuni Matei Airport Area Only at an additional cost. The Resort must be informed of all flight details as early as possible. Check in/Check out Check in time is 12:00 hrs Check out time is 10:00hrs Day Rooms For early arrival and late departures the resort provides a hospitality room with luggage storage, shower facilities, and is available for all guest use. **An early check-in or late check-out is available if the bure is not required that day. Refrigerator Use and Approval of Advertising Material: All material to be used in the advertising or promoting of the Resort must be approval by the Resort. Tea/Coffee Making facilities Passenger Responsibility: The Resort will not be liable for any injuries, loss of or damage to personal equipment and property whilst staying at the Resort, or during participation in any activity either on or off Matangi Island. Guests are required to follow any and all directions, which may be given whilst staying in the Resort or participating in activities either on or off Matangi Island. Guests participating in activities during their stay at the Resort are required to sign an Indemnity Release prior to participation. The Resort will not accept any responsibility for any delay, additional expense or inconvenience which may be caused directly or indirectly by events outside of the Resort’s control such as late arrival of Domestic or International Flights, civil disturbance, fire, floods, unusually severe weather, acts of God, acts of government, or failure of any machinery or equipment. Published & Selling Rates Published and selling rates cannot be lower than the Resort's RACK rates exclusive of tax.The Resort reserves the right to refuse a booking or to consider this Contract null and void for non-compliance. Termination: This Contract may be terminated upon THIRTY (30) DAYS with written notice. In addition, this Contract may be terminated at any time upon the failure of any party to comply with the terms and conditions of the Contract. Not withstanding any termination of the Contract, the Wholesaler shall be entitled to have reservations honoured if made prior to the date of termination and confirmed and utilized thereafter. Governing Law: These terms and conditions of this Contract are covered in all respects by the LAWS OF FIJI and any legal action arising under this Contract shall be litigated only in the appropriate court having jurisdiction in that country. Un-used prepaid diving cannot be refunded, transferred or exchanged for other resort services and/or activities. Matangi daily dive program consists of two dives in the morning. Prepaid 3 Day/6 Tank and 5 Day/10 Tank Dive Packages. Unlimited shore diving is included in these packages Package rates only apply if prepaid and do not apply to diving purchased while at the Resort. Scuba gear hire is available at the Resort and pricing available upon request.

It is a popular escape from the winters in both the northern and southern hemispheres. Perhaps the best time to go, however, is in the dry season or 'Fiji winter', from May to October. This time of year has cooler temperatures, less rainfall and humidity, and less risk of tropical cyclones. Tropical cyclones can blow up between November and April, although they are rarely dangerous. The prevailing winds are easterly and south-easterly; the mountainous spines of the larger islands produce clouds and greater rainfall on their windward sides. The wet season extends from November to April, but rain falls throughout the year. Daytime temperatures average around 25°C (77°F), and humidity is generally high. Arriving By Air Nadi International Airport is Fiji's main international gateway. Over 1.2 million international passengers, pass through its doors annually. Lautoka is situated in the western side of Viti Levu, the largest island in Fiji. It is only 25 km away (toward the north) from Nadi International Airport. Nausori Airport is the second International Airport in Fiji situated on the Eastern Side of the main Island of Viti Levu.

Island Hoppers also provides air transfers to Taveuni. Resort Operated Transfers – All guests are met on arrival and driven direct to the villa. Check in/Check out Check in time is 1400hours Check out time is 1000hours Day Rooms With only one villa, if the Resort has a booking on the same day (back to back), the Resort cannot provide for early or late checkouts. If the Resort does not have guests in the Villa, they are happy to extend a free early check in and late check out. They will do everything in their power to secure a day room for the guests that must wait at the airport for an extended period of time (i.e.the 4pm flight out).
