One Nation Under God Ministries (www.onug.us) How Does God Measure Time? Can humans really know how God measures Time? Has time ever been lost? Is it possible to know when time began? Which of the many human calendars should we use today? Did you know that Astronomers, Historians, Bible Scholars, and even God himself; all agree on one amazing fact…? …And that FACT is that the world has ALWAYS had a measurement of time that has always consisted of a seven day week! From Creation, right up until our present time; there has never been a time, even once upon a time; when humans did not have a seven day week with which to measure and record time!!!

Now for those of you who follow our Bible Studies regularly; you know that the Bible says the seventh day is the Sabbath of The LORD Thy God (Exodus 20:10 / Deuteronomy 5:14). God, as our Creator, made heaven and earth in six days, resting and was refreshed on the seventh day. In fact, God, starting with Adam, made the seventh day commanded observance of His Sabbath, a Sign between Him and man – throughout time (Genesis 2:1-3 / Exodus 31:16-17). Let’s make this even more clear for those in the New Testament Church of God, by reading Hebrews 4:1-11 and replacing the KJV replacement word “rest” with the original word “Sabbath”! The times we keep or don’t keep, play a very important role in whether or not we get to KNOW who God is, and whether we learn HOW to worship Him correctly (John 4:21-26)!

You see, Jesus’ Words did come true! Those in Jerusalem had God’s Sabbath, and they had His High Priest too – in the flesh! But most rejected His Teachings, and most rejected His Sacrifice, and most rejected His Passover – actually killing Christ on His Passover; then celebrating “their” Jewish Passover on the next day (the 15th of Aviv, instead of the Commanded 14th day! Leviticus 23:4-8)!!! Deuteronomy 12:32 / Revelation 22:18-21!!!

Today’s Lesson was designed to complement two of our previous Bible Studies: Do You Have The Sign Of God? and The LORD’s Passover (Part 3) How Can I Know I Am Keeping It On The Correct Day? They are also excellent tools to help you prove how God measures time; and will teach you why it is important for us humans to keep time EXACTLY the way our Father in heaven does – and tells us to do also!!! ------

After Creation, God had Adam and the Angels do 3 Things on the Seventh Day: www.onug.us 1) Sabat or To Cease From Labor. “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on The Seventh Day, God Ended His Work which He

4 had Made; and He Rested on The Seventh Day from ALL His Work which He had Made! And God Blessed The Seventh Day, and Sanctified It (Set It Apart as Holy): because that in It He had Rested from ALL His Work which God Created and Made!” (Genesis 2:1-3). There was still much more important work to do to organize and manage The New Creation; but God Himself STOPPED His Labor and thereby Set An Eternal Example for ALL of Creation Through Eternity, To FOLLOW Him in Obediently Honoring The Seventh Day as Holy to God (Isaiah 58:13-14, 66:23-24)!!! 2) We Convocate or Gather on The Seventh Day Sabbath with others Chosen (John 15:16) by God. www.onug.us “Six days shall work be done: but The Seventh Day is The Sabbath of Rest (Sabat or ceasing of our Labor), an Holy Convocation (or a Holy Gathering of God’s People); ye shall do NO work Therein: It is The Sabbath of The LORD (It Belongs to Him!) in ALL your dwellings!!!” (Leviticus 23:3). 3) We Study The Word of God, Prayerfully, and In Worship of Our Father. The Sabbath Days (Leviticus 23:1-44) are for Learning and being Taught about God, His Son, and His Soon Coming Kingdom!!! www.onug.us “And He (Jesus) Taught in their synagogues, being Glorified of all! And He (Jesus) came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His Custom was (and as our Custom is still today), He went into the synagogue on The Sabbath Day (Saturday), and stood up for to Read (The Scriptures)!!!” (Luke 4:16). “And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on The Sabbath Day, He (Jesus) entered into the synagogue, and Taught!!!” (Mark 1:21). “When He entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him while He was Teaching, and said, "By what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this authority?” (Matthew 21:23).

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ALL Power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth!!! Go ye therefore, and Teach all nations, Baptizing them in The Name of the Father, and of The Son; and with the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to Observe ALL Things whatsoever I have Commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world!!! Amen.” (Matthew 28:18-20). The Seventh Day Sabbath is, by Scripture, Proven (1 Thessalonians 5:21 / Isaiah 28:9-10) to BE The Sign, Mark, or Seal of The CREATOR God (Exodus 31:12-18 / Hebrews 4:1- 11)!!! We Come to Him, Learn of Him, and Repent to Him, on His Holy Sabbath Day!!! Don’t ever again let a fat, bald man in a golden chair convince you, that the sun god day, or Sunday; a day to honor the fallen cherubim - Lucifer the Lightbringer, is the Lord’s Day! Sunday is a counterfeit day or worship! www.onug.us “For The Son of Man is Lord even of The Sabbath Day!!!” (Matthew 12:8). “In The Beginning was The Word (Jesus Christ) and The Word (Jesus Christ) was with God (The Father), and The Word (Jesus Christ) was God {God the Father (1) and Jesus Christ (2) are the ONLY TWO that Scripture says make up the Godhead! See this again in Revelation 22:1-5} !!! The Same (Jesus Christ) was in The Beginning (at Creation) with God (The Father)!!! Christ is LORD of The Sabbath and of us; Because He Created BOTH The Sabbath and The Universe!!! Let Christ’s Light and His Word SHINE Brightly on YOU this Sabbath Day! Learn The TRUTH

6 and The POWER contained in the Seventh Day Sabbath of The Creator God!!! Come and Rest with us, Come and Gather with us, Come and Study with us; and Learn to Worship The Father in Spirit and in Truth on His Biblically Ordained Sabbath Days (John 4:22-26)!!! www.onug.us “I Jesus have sent Mine Angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I was listening to a very popular “Christian” radio program one day, and I heard one of the show’s radio personalities declare, “I am a Gray Area Christian”! The show was geared toward a younger audience, so I listened more intently, trying to discover what the teens and young adults of today considered a gray area Christian to be! Then I heard this young man go on to say something to the effect of, “God is such a Big God, we can’t put

7 him into black and white categories of ‘He says we should do this’, and ‘He says we shouldn’t do that’. I believe I can worship God in the gray areas! God loves all of us even if we don’t know His Will for us in certain areas. God made all of us to be different, we all look different, we have different beliefs, and desires, and different ways to worship Him! God loves gray area Christians! The main thing is that we love Jesus! God is so much bigger than those who try to teach us, ‘you are either doing right or you are doing wrong’. You cannot put God into black and white categories”! Well, I had never heard it put quite that way before! Is this, “anything goes, if you just love Jesus” mentality a Biblical Accurate mindset? Let’s read just a few Scriptures and see for ourselves: John 14:15, 21, 23, 15:10 / 1 John 2:3, 5:3-4 / 2 John 1:6-11 / Galatians 1:8-12 / Revelation 22:14-16 / Isaiah 5:20-30. God’s Word is very clear – if you actually read it, that those wayward children who do not DO exactly as God Commands them to do, as the Authoritative and Powerful Heavenly Father; those who decide to alter and change the unchangeable and eternal precepts of God (the doctrines of Christ – which Jesus personally taught men who would continue His Church upon this earth) – they WILL suffer drastic and progressive consequences (for rejecting His Proverbs 22:6) – leading up to actual military invasion, conquest, and death by very powerful adversaries, brought against them and empowered against them - by God Himself!!! Read Deuteronomy 28:15-68!

Many young people today don’t know what the word, “Woe” means ("Woe" a Middle Age English Term, also rendered, “Wa”. I think of my early comic book years, with a crying cartoon character saying, "WAAAAAAA!" It means to regret or have grave distress come upon someone; to cry out in anguish and pain! This word was used by God to describe how the world will feel when Divine Punishment is about to be unleashed against it (Revelation 8:12-13 / Ezekiel 2:10 / Revelation 3:10, 8:2, 9:12, 11:14, 12:12, 8:12-13). God’s intent in saying “Woe”, is that Humanity would have and feel Great Distress; hopefully they would “Regret” and “Repent” to God, and return to His black and white Laws! God is not fond of gray area Christians (Isaiah 29:13 / Matthew 15:7-9 / Mark 7:6)!!! Those who profess to live in the gray areas of Christianity have forgotten, or have never learned the Testimony of Jesus Christ (John 5:23, 25 / 1 Corinthians 10:1-12 / Revelation 3:1, 14-16)! Will YOU be able to stand before Christ? Let’s not assume our answer! Let us question God for a moment, and see!!! But can we do that? Are we allowed to question God? www.onug.us God has from time to time permitted man to reason with Him, or as we might say today, “Let us settle the matter”, by presenting our questions to God for an answer (Genesis 18:23-32 / Exodus 4:1-17 / Job 23:3-7/ Isaiah 1:18-20 / Micah 6:2-12). But be warned! When God does permit us to question Him, He then gives us absolute ASSURANCE of the answers we seek! It is a foolish person, indeed, that after questioning God; returns to the folly of his former ways and forgets the Wisdom given to him by God (James 1:21-25)! Let us come out of deception; let us leave the black darkness, and the gray areas too, and let us walk into the Light and comprehend it (John 1:3-5)! Jesus said we can know everything given to Him by God to know; because Jesus will reveal it to us (John 15:15 / Matthew 13:11, 16-17)!!! So today, we humbly question The Great God! Today, we ask Him, “How do YOU measure time, LORD?” “How can we know that time has not been lost?” “How can I be sure, LORD, that the

True seventh day, the one YOU Blessed at Creation, is still the same seventh day I have on my human calendars?” Teach me LORD to look at time the way YOU do! Gray area Christians, the lukewarm, and the scoffers, will all tell you we have lost track of time; that the calendar has been changed, that it is impossible to know which day is the seventh day! The ignorant and the unstable question those of us, in the Faith (2 Peter 3:5-7). So today, let’s examine four series of questions that I hear often asked about the differences between how man and God measure time: www.onug.us 1) Didn’t they once take ten days out of the calendar? 2) We live on a round earth; don’t we either gain or lose a whole day in traveling around the globe? If I’m on a jet airplane, how can I really know which day is the Sabbath in every country, at any time? What about the international timeline? 3) What about Joshua’s long day? Didn’t that change the weekly cycle of time for us? 4) How can we know that Saturday, a day named after a pagan god, is really the original Biblical Sabbath day on the Hebrew calendar? To ALL these questions there are definitive and Truthful answers (1 Thessalonians 5:21), and many lines (or Scriptures) of positive proof that God is the Master Time Keeper! Let’s open up our Bibles and our History Books, and leave our prejudices, preconceived notions, and opinions at home! Let today be another endeavor of a Scriptural and Honest investigation of God’s Truth! Past Calendar Changes: 1) Didn’t they once take ten days out of the calendar?

Yes they did. The calendar we currently use is a Roman calendar, as crazy as that may sound to people who strive to follow the Creator God of the Bible! This Roman calendar was changed, but that did not break the weekly seven day cycle that we humans have followed since God made us! www.onug.us Prior to this ten day change, our Roman calendar was called the Julian calendar, because it originated at the time of Julius Caesar (45 B.C.) or several decades before the birth of Christ, and it continued on until the time of Pope Gregory XIII, or until October 1582 A.D. to be exact! The Julian calendar (conceived by a Greek astronomer named Sosigenes) was imperfect because it inserted too many leap years, too often, into man’s record of time. In 45 B.C. the pagan powers that were, supposed a year was exactly 365 1/4 days long. To compensate for the one fourth day each year, they added a day to the month of February every four years. Later it was discovered that a year was 12 minutes and 14 seconds shorter than this; and by the time of Pope Gregory, the calendar had drifted ten days away from the man’s imposed times and seasons. When Julius Caesar first established his calendar, he set the date of 25 March as the spring equinox (an equinox, meaning “equal night” or a time when night and day are about equal in length;

11 this occurs twice a year, also around 22 September. This is when the plane of the earth’s equator passes the center of the sun). Because of this imperfect time keeping system, the actual equinox ordained by God (Psalm 147:4-5 / Isaiah 40:12-15 / Genesis 1:14-19) was occurring earlier and earlier on man’s calendar, or about 21 March by A.D. 300; and by A.D. 1500, it had moved up to 11 March. To correct this, ten days were dropped from the calendar; but they were dropped only from the number of days in the month, NOT from the number of days in a week! A man named Lilius proposed the method which was adopted in making the change. In the Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume 9, page 251, under the article “Lilius” we read: “Thus every imaginable proposition was made, only one idea was never mentioned, viz., the abandonment of the seven-day week.” Also in the Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume 3, page 740, under the article “Chronology”, we read: “It is to be noted that in the Christen period, the order of the days in the week has never been interrupted. Thus, when Gregory XIII reformed the calendar in 1582, Thursday, 4 October was followed by Friday, 15 October. So in England, in 1752, Wednesday, 2 September, was followed by Thursday, 14 September.” www.onug.us Because it was the Catholics who did change their Roman calendar in the first place; the Catholic Encyclopedia is regarded today as one of the best historical authorities we can find on this subject! It answers many questions with proof positive that the seven days of the week have never changed their order, even though Rome completely did away with God’s original calendar – first with the Julian, then with the Gregorian calendars!

October 1582 Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 1 2 3 4 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 To make it still plainer, the 29th of September 1582 was a Sabbath day, or Saturday. The 30th was Sunday. The 1st of October 1582 was a Monday, the 2nd was Tuesday, the 3rd was Wednesday, the 4th was Thursday, and the next day was Friday, but it was NOT the 5th; it was the 15th, and the following day was Saturday, the 16th. Actually, Saturday, the 16th, was just one week of seven days after the preceding Saturday, the 29th of September 1582 A.D. There had been exactly seven days, seven sunsets, from one Sabbath to the next! The British countries initially refused to change the calendar when the Pope ordered it. They continued with the Julian calendar until 1752 A.D.; and while their numbering of the days of the months was different, the days of the week were just the same as in Rome! Those who kept the Sabbath in England, kept the same Saturday that was called Saturday in Rome. Those who observed Sunday observed the same day, both in Rome where the calendar had been changed, and in England where it had not. When the British countries did change to the Gregorian calendar in 1752 A.D., it was necessary by this time to cut out 11 days. But the change happened just as it had in 1582 A.D. Wednesday, 2 September was followed by Thursday, 14 September 1752; and it did NOT in any way change the Sabbath or the succession of the days of the week! www.onug.us In Russia, the calendar was never changed until 1907 A.D. Back in 1907, the day we called the 14th of August on our Gregorian calendars, the Russians called the 1st of August on

13 their Julian calendars which they were still using! Even though our calendars were 13 days apart, in BOTH countries Saturday fell on the same day of the week! Today, the Russians now use the Gregorian calendar, and yet their Sunday is still our Sunday, their Saturday is still our Saturday. Always has been, always will be! The Calendar Shell Game: In Europe during the 1970’s, most of the calendars were changed yet again! This time they just moved Sunday from the top left of the page to the top right. In essence they wanted Sunday to appear to be the seventh day of the week to the uneducated, and the generations that would follow and not inquire into their past! But although the names for the days of the week were moved around, the days of the week did not change. Saturday, 27 December 1975 was still Saturday, and it was still the 27th day of the month. Only its placement in the little man-made boxes of a calendar page changed. Saturday 27 December 1975 was made to look like the sixth day of the week instead of the seventh. Yet Sabbath keepers in Germany, England, France, and in the U.S. were not deceived; they all kept that Sabbath Day on a Saturday, God’s True Seventh day, despite the sleight of hand by man (Daniel 7:23-27)! My wife actually has several Swedish wall calendars starting from the year 1963, right up until 2013. So let’s compare the top lines of some old and new U.S. and Swedish calendars: A December 1963 U.S. Calendar Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 A December 1963 Swedish Calendar Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

You can see they are both identical in numbering the days and in the sequence of the week day names. ------A December 2013 U.S. Calendar Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 A December 2013 Swedish Calendar Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 December 1st on both calendars still occurs on a Sunday. But on the 2013 European calendar, one is tricked into thinking that Sunday, December 1st occurs on the seventh day of the week! On the U.S. calendar, it is evident that the week starts on Sunday, 1 December, with the week ending on a True Sabbath, Saturday 7, 2013. Although both 2013 calendars use identical dates and names of the days of the week, the sequence and order of how the days are presented to us has been changed into a lie. Sunday, 1 December 2013 was not the last of seven days in the cycle of a week, it was most certainly the first day of that week – so says God (Revelation 12:9)!!! How many churches throughout Europe have calendars just like the Swedish one we showed you, hanging up on their walls? Many…, Most! So now you have seen how the calendar that has been in effect since 45 B.C. – prior to the birth of Christ, proves that there has NEVER been any change in the weekly cycle of days! From the time of Jesus Christ, right up until today, the Saturday of today is the SAME seventh day of the week as it was when Jesus walked the earth in the flesh! You can be SURE that the Sabbath Day we keep is the SAME Sabbath Day Jesus kept – the same day He said He was LORD of (Mark 2:28)!!! www.onug.us

Traveling Around The World: 2) We live on a round earth; don’t we either gain or lose a whole day in traveling around the globe? If I’m on a jet airplane, how can I really know which day is the Sabbath in every country, at any time? What about the international timeline? Let’s consider the argument that we either gain or lose a day depending upon which way we are traveling around the earth. Have you read the story of Jonah in the Bible? Jonah was commanded by God to perform a certain task. He was supposed to be on “A Mission from God”; but Jonah did not want to obey. So he got on a ship in an attempt to escape from the presence of the LORD. That is how Jonah came to find himself on a tempest sea and swallowed whole by the great fish (Jonah 1:1-17). I grew up thinking how silly it was for Jonah to think that he could outrun God! Jonah thought by sailing around the world he could escape from the personal Command of God! And yet today, we still have many modern Jonah’s who will try to tell you that if you travel far from home, either east or west, by boat or plane, you cannot really be expected to obey the personal Command God gives to His people (Exodus 20:8-11 / Isaiah 58:13-14)! Romans 1:20-22 sums it up well! Learned men with human wisdom fail to ponder the question deeply; they might imagine in their make believe world of humans time zones, that you will lose a day if you travel westward around the world, or gain a day if you travel eastward. But this loss or gain is not real! In each clime and place around the world, Friday ends at an observable sunset and the seventh day Sabbath begins – so says the unchangeable, unchanging, eternal God (Leviticus 23:32 / Malachi 3:6 / Hebrews 13:8)!!! The correct Biblical definition of a day is NOT 24 hours on a man-made clock or watch, but rather is that period of time from sunset to sunset. And a day is not measured by the rotation of the earth, plus our journey upon it. Could twin brothers each travel around the world in different directions, one gaining a day while the other loses a day? If this concept of loss and gain were true, after one such journey, one

16 brother would be two days older than his twin brother! If they took enough of these trips, in time, one brother would become old enough to be the father of his own twin brother! This is ridiculous, but it does make the point; that God’s time tables are set by Him alone, we simply choose to obey or disobey them! Shallow and silly arguments will not work on God… just ask Jonah (1 John 3:4 / Romans 6:23)! www.onug.us A day always ends, and another begins, when the sun sets (Mark 1:32 / Luke 4:40-43). See any encyclopedia. History shows that it was always custom to end and begin days at sunset! This did not change until a few hundred years after Christ. Because we live on a round earth. A day is measured by the revolution of the earth on its axis, in relation to the sun. Since the Sabbath day begins and ends at SUNSET, we observe it here when the sun sets HERE. But the sun sets three hours earlier in New York than on the Pacific Coast, hence Sabbath-keepers in New York begin their Sabbath three hours earlier than those in California. In London the Sabbath begins nine hours earlier than on the Pacific Coast; if it is kept according to God's directions. WE KEEP THE SABBATH DAY WHEN AND WHERE THE DAY COMES TO US (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)!!! www.onug.us

Jerusalem is God's headquarters for the whole earth! That is where Jesus Christ will set up His Government in the World Tomorrow – after His Second Coming; and that is where God will

17 place the Lake of Fire too (Revelation 20:7-10). Even God the Father, when He Returns to earth to dwell with men, will make His “Headquarters of the Universe” in Jerusalem (Revelation 21:1-7)!!! Jerusalem is where Jesus kept the Sabbath, and we know HE had it right! Authorities believe it was by God's guidance that men were caused to set the international "date line / time line" (where, because of a round earth turning on its axis a day must be dropped or added IN COMPUTATION), in the middle of the Pacific where it affects virtually nobody and almost exactly OPPOSITE from Jerusalem! Just like Satan got the whole world to follow him in changing the start of a new day from sunset, as God ordained - to midnight; a new year from sundown on the first day of spring - to midnight in the dead of winter; Satan got as far from Jerusalem as possible to set up his date line! That is why Jesus Christ will restore to a disobedient humanity, God’s calendar with His seasons, times, and Holy Days; when Jesus – The King of This Earth – returns to implement God’s Government upon ALL of mankind (Zechariah 14:16-19 / Isaiah 66:23-24). Learning to keep track of time the Way our Father in heaven does, is optional right now in human history; but rejecting these concepts of time-keeping when Christ returns, will carry the death penalty! It’s THAT IMPORTANT to God that we get it right!!!

As time is now computed, Sabbath-keepers the world over keep the SAME SABBATH, when it comes to them, that is and always has been the seventh day of the week AT JERUSALEM. But, for the simple reason that the Bible tells us to begin our Sabbath at SUNSET, and the sun does not set at the same time in various parts of the earth, the holy hours of the Sabbath begin, in China, several hours earlier than in Jerusalem — and likewise, in America several hours LATER than in Jerusalem. But, beginning in the middle of the Pacific, halfway around the earth from Jerusalem, ALL EVERYWHERE ON EARTH KEEP THE SAME DAY, as that day comes to them, EXACTLY AS IT IS KEPT AT JERUSALEM! The Circle of the Earth: Sabbath begins when the sun sets where you are; not in Israel!!! www.onug.us

God sits on the circle of the earth: “Have ye not known? Have ye not heard? Hath it not been told you from the beginning? Have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in” (Isaiah 40:21-22).

The circle of the earth is the moving line between day and night that covers all the earth each 24 hour period. So God ushers in Sabbath worldwide as the sun sets, each Friday, in each nation, at different times over a 24 hour period (Genesis 1:3-5)!!! God is GOD!!!

Therefore a new month begins on the same day around the world, over a 24 hour period at sunset. And so, God started His Holy Day Calendar this year, on Friday sundown, 16 March 2018; and Passover, began on Thursday evening, 29 March 2018, at sunset; wherever you were in the world - when the sun set at your location! www.onug.us

The Bible Commands us in Leviticus 23:4-5: “These are the Feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall

19 proclaim in their seasons. In the fourteenth day of the first month, at even (or sundown), is the Lord's Passover.”

Jesus Christ, the unchanging God of the Old Testament (Malachi 3:6 / Hebrews 13:8 / 1 Corinthians 10:1-4), the Same One who had given Adam and Eve, Noah, and Abraham the Ordinance of Passover in their days; was now fulfilling a promise He made to Abraham on the night of Passover, 430 years previously – by returning the SAME ordinance of Passover to Moses and Abraham’s children (the enslaved Hebrew nation of Israel) – on The Night Of The Exodus Passover: Sundown, the 14th day of Aviv, in the year 1487 B.C.! God’s Time Keeping is PERFECT!!!

The Holy Days (Passover, The Days of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, The Feast of Tabernacles, and The Last Great Day) are the Truth of God. The Holy Days show us God’s Plan. When we keep these Holy Days we become the very Voice of God to this fallen world; we are in effect saying, by our actions on each Feast Day, “Come LORD Jesus, Come” (Revelation 22:12, 17, 20-21 / Matthew 10:32-33 / Luke 12:8-9)!!! That Long Day of Joshua:

3) What about Joshua’s long day? Didn’t that change the weekly cycle of time for us? This is yet another argument scoffers make, that the long day of Joshua, when the sun stood still for "about a whole day", is figured in a manner to show that Sunday is the seventh day of the week. Let’s see…

The Biblical account is found in (Joshua 10:12-14)."Then spake Joshua to the Lord ... and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed ... and hasted not to go down about a whole day."

Based on this is an ingenious argument, accompanied by a diagram, which is supposed to show that today Sunday is actually the continuation of the seventh day from creation. The gist of the argument is this:

"Joshua showed that the sun and the moon were within a few minutes of going into conjunction in the position he placed them when he issued his command. Thus this week contained a twenty-four hour period without a corresponding sunrise and sunset... Professor Totten has clearly demonstrated that the conjunction was due to occur on Tuesday at 11:13 a.m. …According to the accompanying diagram it is apparent that this particular week, from Sabbath day to Sabbath day, saw only six sunrises and six sunsets, though it contained the nominal seven

21 times twenty-four hour periods .... Numbering according to twenty-four hour periods it is seen that Saturday is the seventh day. If however, we number our days according to the sunsets, then it is clear that Sunday becomes the seventh day from creation."

www.onug.us NOTE: If Joshua's long day had been counted as two days in actual history — "Tues." and "Wed." as labeled in this trick diagram, and the order of days had come down to us thus, this diagram would be correct. But it was counted as ONE DAY. The day labeled "Sun" above we call SATURDAY today, the true 7th day of the week.

Let’s look at what is WRONG with this argument, and this diagram. First, it is stated, "according to the accompanying diagram, it is apparent that this particular week, from Sabbath day to Sabbath day, saw only six sunrises and sunsets." That is true, according to this diagram; but NOT ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD!!! The diagram is in ERROR! It is a trick!!!

GOD SAYS, "from even unto even shall ye celebrate your Sabbath." The days OF THE WEEK are counted from SUNSET TO SUNSET, according to the measuring of time in the first chapter of Genesis. It is stated each day that "the evening and the morning were the first day", "the second day", and so on. NOWHERE does God's Word say, “The first 24 hours was the first

22 day, and the next 24 hours was the second day, etc. GOD DOES NOT COUNT TIME ACCORDING TO MAN-MADE WATCHES AND CLOCKS!!! God counts DAYS according to the SETTING OF THE SUN!!!

Now in this “man-made” diagram, the MAN who designed it called this long day of Joshua's two days — Tuesday and Wednesday. Is this in harmony with the BIBLE? Does the BIBLE call this long day TWO DAYS? Notice, Joshua 10:14 distinctly says, "And there was NO DAY like it before or after it." The Bible calls it a DAY — just ONE DAY. But in order to twist it around to conform to the broad and popular way of observing the pagan Sunday, this one day must be correlated as TWO DAYS. BUT THAT IS CONTRARY TO GOD’S SCRIPTURES!!! www.onug.us

Next, this argument ingeniously confuses the reader between numbering according to 24-hour periods and numbering according to sunsets. The author of this argument used 24-hour periods to make Friday appear to be Saturday, the actual 6th day of the week APPEARS to be Saturday the 7th day. Then he turns around and re-numbers these same days according to sunsets to make SUNDAY come out the 7th day. It is clever, but it is a deception, A TRICK!!! We CANNOT FIGURE DAYS IN TERMS OF 24-HOUR PERIODS. God counts days from sunsets!

Joshua's long day was approximately 48 hours on a man-made watch, or time keeping instrument; but it was only ONE DAY, and the Bible calls IT a DAY, and specifically says it was DIFFERENT FROM other days: "there was no DAY", not "days but "day", "like IT before or after IT"!!! The pronoun "it" is singular. Just ONE DAY! And God says so!!! God's week is not made of seven 24- hour periods, but of seven days counting from sunsets. NOTE: Our Days were reckoned THEN, down through history, and TODAY, according to this diagram (sunset to sunset / evening to evening), and NOT as shown in the first diagram above. Saturday (Sabbath) is the TRUE 7th day from Creation!!! God’s Church and His Saints do not need a diagram to figure out our Heavenly Father’s Divine Truth! Just read Hebrews 4:1-11, a New Testament Scripture; but use the original word of “Sabbath” to replace the KJV translators’ “newer” Catholic Church appeasing word of “rest” to make this extremely clear! Malachi 3:6 / Hebrews 13:8 and Hebrews 4:1-11 all say the SAME THING!!!

A Trick Intended to Deceive YOU!!!

Do you notice the trick employed as a means of deception in the first diagram? "Joshua's Long Day," as it is plainly labeled in the diagram, a day, one single day, is marked as "Tuesday" and "Wednesday", as if it were really two days! At the bottom of the diagram, it is numbered the 3rd and the 4th days of the week — TWO DAYS. Then at the top of the diagram it is re-numbered a different way, as ONE DAY, the "3rd" day of the week. Many have been deceived by this diagram and have missed this! The day labeled "Saturday" is arrived at by counting Joshua's Long Day as TWO DAYS. Figuring that way, this day is made the 7th day of the week. Then, in the top line by re-numbering this day as ONE day, the 3rd day of the week, the day he has called Thursday becomes the 4th day, Friday is the 5th day, and Saturday is the 6th day of the week. This, of course, brings Sunday out the 7th day. The Beast is trying to change time (Daniel 7:25)!!! Your

24 defense, my defense, our defense, to Satan’s deception is always to listen to Christ (Matthew 4:4 / Luke 4:4 / Deuteronomy 8:3 / John 10:4-5, 7-10). Having Life, and having it more abundantly, is dependent upon us, as sheep, knowing where the Shepherd will be, and at what time, and on what day (Matthew 24:42 / Luke 21:36)! I think it is amazing, that in our modern society, mobile – strap on the wrist, time keeping devices are still called “Watches” in English– so we still know when to be where – by tracking TIME!!! Do YOU have your watch set to God’s Time – Zone?

"Joshua's Long Day" cannot be two days, the 3rd and the 4th days of the week, as it is numbered below, and also at the same time be just ONE DAY, the 3rd day, as figured in the top column. Which is it? The 3rd day of the week, Tuesday, or the 3rd and the 4th days, Tuesday AND Wednesday? www.onug.us

The Bible calls it "A DAY", and not two days; it is only ONE DAY, Tuesday, the 3rd day of the week, as shown in the correct diagram, which we verified by God’s Word (1 Thessalonians 5:21)!!! The error in the first diagram is in calling this day one day in one place, and two days another time. Actually it was just ONE DAY, Tuesday the 3rd day of the week. The day he has labeled Saturday, therefore, is NOT SATURDAY AT ALL, but actually Friday, the 6th day of the week. And the seventh day should not be labeled Sunday as in his diagram, but Saturday, as in the second diagram. And that is exactly the way it actually was counted in history!!!

To establish WHICH DAY is the true Sabbath, the true SEVENTH DAY from creation, which God MADE HOLY TIME, we need to go back no further than the time of Christ! For, if this Joshua's long day argument is true, then JESUS PROFANED THE SABBATH GOD MADE HOLY TIME, and observed the 6th, not the true 7th day of the week!!! And if we accuse Jesus of that, we accuse Him of committing SIN, for sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4), and no one will argue that the Sabbath point of The Law was abolished during Jesus' lifetime! If he sinned, then we are without a Savior and we are without HOPE!

But we know that Jesus knew which day was the RIGHT day! He was the Maker, and Lord of that day (Mark 2:27-28)! Jesus kept the TRUE SABBATH, and the calendar records PROVE that the Saturday of today is the exact SAME seventh day Jesus kept!!! You and I certainly should want to keep the SAME DAY Jesus kept (John 13:12-17)!!! In over 30 languages today, as in Spanish; “Sabado” means “SABBATH”!!! Praise God!!! www.onug.us

Was TIME Lost from Adam to Moses?

4) How can we know that Saturday, a day named after a pagan god, is really the original Biblical Sabbath day on the Hebrew calendar? Great Question!!! Adam was created and living when sunset came the sixth day of creation week, when God rested from His work. Adam knew which day was the seventh day. Jesus called Abel "righteous" (Matthew 23:35), so Abel kept the Sabbath. Enoch "walked with God" (Genesis 5:24 / Hebrews 11:5) so Enoch kept the Sabbath, and he was "translated" less than a hundred years before Noah. They knew which day was the same seventh day all through this time. Adam lived 243 years with Methuselah, and until Lamech was 56 years of age. These men knew which day was the seventh day. Methuselah lived 600 years with Noah, and Lamech lived with Noah 595 years. Noah certainly learned from them, and others, which was the same seventh day. And Noah kept it, because Noah was a preacher of RIGHTEOUSNESS (2 Peter 2:5), and "all Thy commandments are righteousness" (Psalm 119:172)!!! Shem was also righteous, and he lived until Abraham was 150 years old. Noah died only about two years before Abraham was born. Abraham kept God's Sabbath (Genesis 18:19, 26:5). So also did his son Isaac, his grandson Jacob, and his great grandson Joseph, all of whom were righteous commandment keepers (Psalm 119:172)! No, time was not lost down to the time of Joseph.

But, after the death of Joseph, the children of Israel (Jacob) became slaves in Egypt. "Therefore," it is written, "they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens .... And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour: And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage ..." (Exodus 1:11, 13-14). The Egyptians did not observe the Sabbath. They lashed the Israelites in their slave-labor, on the Sabbaths the

27 same as other days. So these Israelites, for some 150 to 175 years, several generations, were not permitted to keep the Sabbath. They had no priesthood. There were no Sabbath or religious services. Probably there was no religious teaching; certainly none was allowed on an organized scale. There was no Bible, no written record of GOD'S INSTRUCTION, or of GOD'S LAW for those in Egypt during the time of slavery!

The Bible says, "The Word of the Eternal endureth forever" (Isaiah 40:8 / 1 Peter 1:25)!!! God has always walked with men, and has always taught men how to Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth; as evidenced by the Scriptures cited above. Any inspired Word of God, which had been written prior to the time of Moses, had been lost; or it would still be in evidence today. The first Scriptures, post Hebrew Exodus; were written by MOSES, after the Israelites were delivered from Egyptian slavery. The generation of Israelites which Moses led out of Egypt had had no religious instruction or training. Probably they knew little about the Sabbath. Time and Scripture may have been lost (to them), but if so, God REVEALED IT TO THEM, BY SOME AMAZING MIRACLES (Exodus 12:1-51 / 31:12-18)!!! www.onug.us

God Revealed the Creation Sabbath to Israel

In the days of Moses, God revealed the true creation Sabbath to all the Children of Israel, in the raining of manna from heaven. At the wilderness of Sin, two weeks before arriving at Sinai, they grumbled and complained from lack of food. The Lord said, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you ... that I may prove them, whether they will walk in MY LAW or no" (Exodus 16:4). This has to do with whether we will keep GOD'S LAW. To disobey is SIN. And Moses and Aaron said to the people, "At even [sunset], then ye shall know that the Lord hath brought you out from the land of Egypt: and in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the Lord" (Exodus 16:12). "And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the Lord ... and it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked

28 toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud ... And it came to pass, that at even [dusk], the quails came up, and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay round about the host" (Exodus 16:13).

Notice, there was a RELIGIOUS ASSEMBLY on this day, and the GLORY OF THE LORD appeared. The quail did not come up until the sun set. WHY? Because this had been a Sabbath day. At sunset, when it ended, the quails came, and the people were privileged to go to work gathering in food to eat.

The next morning the manna fell. This was the FIRST DAY of the week. If they tried to keep over any manna till the following day, it bred worms and stank (Exodus 16:20). On the sixth day (verse 22), twice as much came from heaven and all gathered twice as much. Then, that sixth day, the Lord said, "Tomorrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath unto the Lord" (verse 23). They kept it over, and on this day it did not breed worms nor stink.

However, on the seventh day some of the people must have thought TIME WAS LOST. They were like some modern people who were not sure WHICH DAY was the Sabbath, or whether it makes any difference. They went out to gather on the seventh day (verse 27) — AND THEY FOUND NONE! On this day God did not send any! So, by three miracles God showed them WHICH DAY was the TRUE Creation Sabbath!!!

Time could not have been mixed up or lost under the strict Mosaic regime between then and the time of Christ! We have shown that Joshua's Long Day was just ONE DAY, and it did not change the reckoning of time in any way. If it did, then, as pointed out, Christ kept the wrong day! And so we come to the time of Christ, KNOWING that time was not lost up to then!

The Proof of the Jewish People:

Now if we are convinced that Jesus set us a RIGHT example, and that He observed the RIGHT seventh day, we should have no

29 further difficulty! The day Jesus kept AS HIS CUSTOM (Luke 4:16) was the same day all the Jews kept, for they were holding their religious service in the synagogue (Luke 4:17, 20). About 43 years after this, the Jewish people were driven into EVERY NATION ON EARTH! From that time until now, they have been separated, scattered into all nations. Through the Middle Ages, the Jews in China had no way of communicating with the Jews of Africa; the Jews in Europe with those of other parts of the world. Yet today, with communication restored over every part of the world, we do NOT find the Jews all mixed up! If time had been lost, the Jews of one part of the world would be observing one day, and the Jews of other parts other days. But everywhere — in EVERY NATION ON EARTH, we find the Jewish people have been keeping the SAME IDENTICAL DAY, the day we call SATURDAY God’s True seventh day Sabbath!!! The Jewish people are the miracle of all history, and they are another proof that we have not lost the Sabbath! Ask any orthodox Jew today if HE has lost HIS Sabbath! Such an idea would be nonsense to him, he would not be in doubt; so neither should we!!!

Another line of proof! We have a history of the true Church of God through every century from Christ until now. It has always been a SABBATH KEEPING Church. Through the Middle Ages, just as prophesied in Revelation 12:6, this true Church had to FLEE to the wilderness, clear beyond the jurisdiction of the Roman Empire, dominated by the Roman Catholic Church. In 363 A.D. the Roman Church passed the Decree of the Council of Laodicea, pronouncing the DEATH SENTENCE upon any found to be keeping the Sabbath. Many true Christians were MARTYRED for keeping this day. When men were willing to GIVE THEIR LIVES in order to keep God's Commands, do you think they could lose track of the right day?

And coming down to modern times, we find this Church, the True Christian Church, keeping the day we call Saturday, the same day the Jewish people have been keeping right down through history; every year from Christ until now! Shouldn’t YOU too? www.onug.us

The Proof of Reason

Why should time be lost? How COULD it be lost? Stop and think for a moment… One person might, wake up some Saturday morning and think it was Friday, and thus wait until Sunday to keep his Sabbath. But for time to be lost, not only ONE MAN, but every other person in his town or city; every person in every province, state, or county of the whole world; every person in every nation on earth would have to wake up the same morning with the same hallucination! Do you think this possible? Yet you must believe this has happened if you believe that time has been lost, and that we cannot know God’s True Sabbath Day!!!

The Testimony of Astronomers

Finally, we have the scientific testimony of astronomers. We quote from the official government statements to the League of Nations, as published August 17, 1926, in an official League

The government of Finland presented this observation from one of its astronomers: "The reform [calendar reform before the League] would break the division of the week, which has been followed for thousands of years, and therefore has been hallowed by immemorial use." Did you catch what was happening? Back in 1926, The Beast was trying to change the Weekly order of Days that was Ordained by God (Exodus 20:8-11). Satan did succeed in Europe in the 1970’s with more calendar victories Prophesized to be achieved ahead (Revelation 13:1-18, 20:4,6)!!! www.onug.us The government of France presented the following statements from two of its leading astronomers: "One essential point is that of the continuity of the week ... a continuity which has existed for so many centuries." "The continuity of the week ... is without doubt the most ancient scientific institution bequeathed to us by antiquity." Professor D. Eginitis, director of the Observatory of Athens, a member of the League Committee, said, "The continuity of the week ... has crossed the centuries, and all known calendars, still intact." This should be enough. We have presented the proof of history, the proof of the calendar, the proof of the Jewish people, the proof of the martyrs of the true Church, the proof of reason, the testimony of astronomers; and also that of the Roman Catholic Church, which through the centuries has preserved its Sunday intact, as the day FOLLOWING the seventh-day Sabbath as kept by Jesus and the early apostles!!! The Catholic priest today is no more in doubt about his SUNDAY being the true FIRST day of the week, than the Jew is about God's Sabbath!!! Would God set apart a certain day, put His blessing on it (Genesis 2:1-3), make it HOLY TIME, command that it be KEPT HOLY FOREVER, and then let that holy time become so lost we cannot tell when to keep it? No He would not!

God would make sure He teaches His Children how to measure time the way He does (John 14:6)!!! It is SIN to profane God's Sabbath! That is the 4th point of the Law (John 8:11). Sin is the transgression of the Law (1 John 3:4), and if we break only ONE OF ITS POINTS, any one, we are guilty as sinners (James 2:8- 11). The very last recorded words of Jesus say: "Blessed are they that do His [His Father's] Commandments that THEY may have right to the TREE OF LIFE (Revelation 22:14)!!!

God, Nor Christ, never EVER change (Malachi 3:6 / Hebrews 13:8); nor does Their Way of Keeping Time, and humans must continue to worship on God on His Appointed and Holy Days… just like, and just when, Jesus and ALL the Apostles taught us to! When Jesus Christ Returns to this earth AS KING of Kings – or KING of those Raised in the First Resurrection (Revelation 5:9-10, 20:4&6 / Psalm 47:1-9); He will MANDATE the Return, of a Disobedient world, to His Eternal Sabbaths and Holy Days, once again (Isaiah 66:23-24 / Zechariah 14:16-19)! When we keep these Holy Days we become the very Voice of God to this fallen world; we are in effect saying, by our actions on each Feast Day, “Come LORD Jesus, Come” (Revelation 22:12, 17, 20- 21)!!! We are actually confessing Christ before men (Matthew 10:32-33)!

The faithful and obedient in Christ will always keep God’s True Holy Days and Sabbath; and will reject the pagan lies and substitutions of God’s TRUTH (Revelation 22:11-15)! God’s Holy Days are meant for Christians to ENJOY! They truly are FEAST DAYS, meant to be enjoyed by God’s elect everywhere, throughout time, FOREVER!!!

”But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
