However, the exception to this would be if a resident had a carer who didn’t live within the boundary they would be able to accompany the resident. The Clerk confirmed that whilst everything would be done to try and keep the attendance of those on the trip to parish residents only it was easier said than done. 40/19. FROM THE SECRETARY: TAKE NOTE: The Annual General meeting of the Mid Cheshire Rail Users Association will take place on TUESDAY 27 JUNE 2017 at 8pm in the Plumley Village Hall, Plumley Moor Road WA16 0TR - some 5 minutes’ walk from Plumley railway station (in the direction of the village, from the station bridge you turn right). The meeting will be followed by a presentation given by Liam Sumpter, Northern’s Regional Director Central. Based in Manchester, the region stretches as far north as Clitheroe and Colne, down to Crewe, Stoke on Trent and Buxton. A copy of the minutes from the 2016 AGM can be found on the MCRUA website. CHAIRMAN’S COMMENTS by John Oates We’re pleased to provide our latest “Rail Report” enclosing the Mid Cheshire Summer Timetable commencing on Sunday 21 May. This has no changes from the previous winter timetable. The MCRUA committee, along with Friends Groups on the Line and the Community Rail Partnership members have received the details of the proposed Draft of the Mid Cheshire Line Timetables for the Revised “Two trains an hour” Service pattern from May 2018 for consultation, although Northern are saying they are a long way off being finalised. -

The Twentieth Century Society North West Group Chair’s Report 2017 The North West Group have had a busy year in 2017, with a number of successful tours and high profile pieces of casework. Tours For our first tour of 2017 we ventured to the affluent Manchester suburb of Hale. This was because Hale has one of the highest number of Edgar Wood houses in the country, and some of his grandest and most unusual designs. Also on this walking tour, we visited the lovely post war church of Holy Angels, which disappointingly was turned down for listing a few years ago. In contrast, in early summer we had a walking tour round central Liverpool and Birkenhead to look at its inter war architectural gems associated with Herbert Rowse and the Liverpool School of Architecture. We saw the majesty of his former Martin’s Bank HQ and the magnificent neo-classical shopping arcade in his India Buildings, but both sadly looked a little forlorn. We looked at some of Liverpool’s grandest commercial buildings, showing Liverpool’s status as a global city. We ended the day by passing through the road tunnel under the Mersey to visit the brooding and monumental brick deco ventilation tower for the Mersey tunnels, by Rowse that wouldn’t look out of place in Gotham City. A more intimate tour in the Autumn was a walking tour of some buildings by Roger Stephenson, introduced by the architect. This included his impressive new building for Chetham’s School of Music, including a new concert hall, of pale brown brick in a style reminiscent of the brick expressionist buildings of the early twentieth century in the Netherlands and Germany. -

Below are outlined the new additional procedures implemented on all future bus tours, until further notice. Effective July 26, 2021 • Face masks are MANDATORY for ALL clients attending bus tours, while on the bus and/or if Glory Tour’s vendors require it at the tour venue. Most business have lifted their mask requirements though, as there is no longer a mandatory mask requirement in Florida, EX- CEPT for public transportation, (planes, trains and buses) and is STILL mandatory on all public transportation. You will not be able to board the bus without a face mask. • All tour guides are required to wear face mask. • Additional cleaning measures are in place to clean the bus before, during and after each bus tour. This will include cleaning handrails and other high-touched surface areas after clients disembark and before re-loading the bus. • All day bus tours will now have a maximum of 53, instead of the previ- ous maximum of 45 people unless there is a limited capacity with a Glory Tour’s vendor. • There will be hand sanitizer available on all bus tours. • Glory Tours is also working with all of their vendors to ensure they have implemented additional safety measures at each tour destination and/or venue. • Please do not attend a bus tour if you are not feeling well. PLEASE BE ADVISED that by attending a Glory Tours bus trip, you voluntarily assume all risks related to the potential exposure to COVID-19 and will not hold Glory Tours liable should you contact COVID-19. -
