HOME’S ARTISTIC DIRECTOR: THEATRE, WALTER MEIERJOHANN, TALKS ABOUT THE FUNFAIR – THE POLITICS, THE HUMOUR AND WHY IT WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE TO OPEN OUR FIRST EVER THEATRE SEASON. I was incredibly proud when we did the first preview of The Funfair, the first show to be produced for the main stage. We had so many northern actors, a big chunk from Manchester. I really felt like I had a northern company… and they were amazing. There was a real sense of ownership; they just loved being here. The biggest achievement of a performance is whether we created an ensemble and, for me, this was the best ensemble I’ve ever worked with.
