Kantharao, Adhoc Lecturer in Telugu, participated in ―National Seminar-cum-Workshop on Vedic sciences‖ conducted by Telugu Language Commission and P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts & Science, Vijayawada and attended the ―World Telugu Writers‘ Conference‖ at Vijayawada on 1. The Department of Botany organized a UGC-sponsored National Seminar on ‗Advances in Environmental Biotechnology‘ on 17th and 18th August, 2007. Delegates from Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Maharastra and Andhra Pradesh participated. 2. Miss. M. Bhadrakali, Head, Dept. of Hindi, participated in Hindi Seminar on 20th and 21st September, 2007 on ‗Role of Telugu poets in Hindi Literature in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam Districts‘ conducted by Acharya Nagarjuna University. 3. Dr. K. Krishna Mohan, Librarian, attended a National Conference on ‗Reorientation of Library Services in India‘ on 18th, 19th and 20th August, 2007 conducted by Andhra Pradesh Library Association, Vijayawada, and presented a paper on ‗Reading in Electronic Environment and Role of Search Engines – some observations‘. 4. Sri K. Venkateswarlu, Lecturer in Commerce and Mr. V. Gopichand, Adhoc Lecturer in Commerce attended National Seminar on ‗Retail Investor in India – Emerging Trends‘ organized by Osmania Univeristy and presented a paper on ‗Mutual Fund—The Modern Investment‘. 5. Sri M. Venugopal, Head, Dept. of Commerce and Mr. K. Venkateswarlu attended a National Seminar on ‗Emancipation and Empowerment of Indian Women‘ organized by the Dept. of History, CR College, Chilakaluripet on 13th and 14th August, 2007 and presented a paper on ‗Empowerment of Indian Women‘. 6. Sri P. Ranga Babu, Head, Dept. of Zoology and Sri Ch. Suresh Babu, Lecturer in Zoology, attended a Regional Seminar on ‗Sustainable Aquaculture‘ on 16th October, 2007 organised by the Dept. of Zoology, DAR College, Nuzvid. 7. Career Guidance and Placement Services Cell (CGC) organized a Seminar on ‗Career Opportunities and Soft Skills‘ by Sri M.R.K .Murthy, Director, Career Launcher on 12th September, 2007, organised a Seminar on ‗Students counselling for placements‘ by Dr. Shyama Trimurthy, Head, Dept. of Adult Education, ANU, and Prof. T. Lakshmi, Head, Dept. of Info. Tech. VR Siddhartha Engineering College, Vijayawada, on 27th September, 2007. 8. Mr.T.M.N.Roy and Mr.P.Venkateswarlu presented a paper on ―Transgenic technology and human Welfare‖ at J.M.J. College Tenali on 23rd and 24th of November, 2007. 9. Sri D.Janardhana Rao, presented a paper on ―Biodiversity conservation‖ at the national seminar on ―Biodiversity conservation and environmental Biotechnology‖ conducted by VSR and NVR college, Tenali on 23rd & 24th January, 2008. 10. Sri P.Ranga Babu, Head, Dept. of Zoology attended a National Seminar on ―Biodiversity and Environmental Biotechnology sponsored by NBA & DBT Government of India on 23rd & 24th January, 2008 conducted by the Department of Zoology, VSR & NVR College, Tenali. Guest Lectures: 11. Sri G. Sreeramachandra Murthy, Rtd. Head, Department of History, gave a Guest Lecturer on ‗The reasons for the Second World War‘ to Final year B.A. Students on 23.8.2007. 12. The Department of Botany organized a guest lecture by Sri K. Kiran Kumar, Executive Director, SKG Sangha, Kolar, Karnataka State on ―Waste Management‖ on 28.6.2007 13. The Department of Politics organized a guest lecture on the ‗Role of Coalition Governments in Democracy‘ by the ex-Minister for Agriculture, Sri Vadde Sobhanadreeswararao on 26.9.2007 and also student seminars to all the B.A. students. 14. On the occasion of ―World Food Day‖ on 16.10.2007 a Guest lecture was organized by the Department of Botany. Dr. A.V.V. Satyanarayana Swamy, Associate Prof. in Environmental Science, Acharya Nagarjuna University, delivered a Lecture on ―Green Revolutin – Effects on Environment‖. Prizes were awarded to students who participated in the essay writing competition conducted on the above topic. 15. The Department of Telugu organised a Guest Lecture on ―Panuganti Lakshmi Narasimha Rao – Sakshi Vyasamulu‖ by Shri G.Venu Gopala Reddy, M.A., M.Phil. on 28.12.2007 to Degree Students. 16. The Department of Botany organized a Guest Lecture on ―Challengers and Strategies on environment‖ by Sri G.H.Badrinadh, Zonal Office, APPCB, Vijayawada on 13.12.2007. 17. The Department of Botany organized a Guest Lecture on ―The Developments in Biotechnology‖ by Prof.K.R.S.Sambasiva Rao, Centre for Biotechnology, ANU on 11.12.2007. 18. The Department of History organised a Guest Lecture on ―Impact of Modern Europe on India‖ by Sri G.S.Venkateswara Rao, Head (Retired) Department of History, AG & SG Siddhartha Degree College, Vuyyuru on 26.7.2008. N.S.S and N.C.C: 19. NSS volunteers participated in the medical camp at Veerankilock on 23.8.2007. NSS volunteers held a ralley on 2.10.2007 chanting slogans on Peace, Non-violence and love for all religions. NSS volunteers offered services during Dasara Festival from 12.10.2007 to 21.10.2007 at Sridutta Temple in Gandigunta. 20. The Unit-III (Girls) organised a cleaning programme of the bank of Pulleti Canal along with NCC and Eco friendly club members. 21. The Unit-III (Girls) participated in a rally on 15.12.2007 along with Eco friendly club to educate the people regarding the disposal of polythene materials. 22. Special camps were organised by the three NSS Units in their adopted villages for 10 days from 21.12.2007 to 30.12.2007 Literary and Cultural Activities: 23. Four students – Mr. Syed Razak, Miss. K. Sukanya, Miss. K. Jostna Rani and Mr. K. Prasad of III B.Sc., (EM) secured P.B. Ananda Raju Memorial Rolling Trophy for having won 2nd place in a National level Quiz Competition in Chemistry at Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada on 5.9.2007 and 6.9.2007. 24. The Literary and Cultural Association conducted Essay writing, Elocution, Music, cultural and Mimicry competitions to the students and distributed prizes to the winners on the occasion of Independence Day. 25. Our students won 1st and 2nd places in Essay writing and debating competitions conducted jointly by Rotary Club and Indian Medical Association, Vuyyuru. 26. Our students won third place in general quiz competitions conducted by Loyola College, Vijayawada. 27. M.Vara Lakshmi, II B.Sc. won the First Prize in Essay writing competition organized by Islamic students organization on 8.11.2007. 28. Our college students won prizes in singing competitions organized on the occasion of ―Grandalaya Varothsavalu‖ on 16.11.2007. 29. Our college students won appreciation for their active participation in Cultural activities during ―Intercollegiate Youth Fest‖ at Siddhartha Auditorium, Vijayawada on 17.11.2007. 30. Our students won Prizes in Elocution, Dance, Quiz and Debating at ―NSS Yourth Festival‖ at ANR College Gudivada on 10.12.2007. 31. Our students won prizes in Elocution, Debating and Quiz at ―Yuvajanothsavalu‖ held at Acharya Nagarjuna University on 15.12.2007. 32. Sri Y.V.B. Rajendra Prasad, M.L.C., Inaugurated the NSS Special Camp held at Gandigunta Village on 21.12.2007. 33. Sri V. Sobhanadreeswararao, ex-Minister for Agriculture, participated as Chief Guest in the Valedictory Function of the NSS Special Camp held at Yakamuru village on 30.12.2007. 34. Our college students have been winning prizes for Essay Writing, Elocution, Quiz and group dance for the last five year. They have won prizes in these activities again in the year on 10.1.2008, held at KVR & MKR College, Kazipalem on 10.1.2008. Games and Sports: On" 5th November, 2007 our College" volley ball team participated in Acharya Nagarjuna University Intercollegiate volley ball tournament held at V.S.R Govt.Degree College Movva and won third place. Mr. Y. Hemanth and Mr. B.Abhinay of 3rd B.Sc., (MPCs represented ANU in the South India Inter University tournaments. On 12th December. 2007 our College Athletic team participated in Acharya Nagarjuna University Intercollegiate Athletic meet 2007-08 held at ANU Campus. Mr.G.Srikanth of 2nd B.Se., Won the 2"d Place in 5000 Mtrs run and participated in the All India Inter University Athletic Meet 2007-08 representing ANU. On 21st December 2007 our College Cross country team participated in Acharya Nagarjuna University Intercollegiate Cross country competitions held at K. V. R.College, Nandigama. Mr.D.Raja of 2nd B.Se., participated in the All India Inter University Cross Country Meet 2007-08. On 6th January 2008 our College Soft ball team participated in Acharya Nagarjuna University Intercollegiate Soft ball tournament held at Govt. Degree College, Avanigadda and Won the 1st Place Mr.A.Ajay Kumar 3rd B.Com , Mr.D.Vara Prasad 3rd B.A., Mr.Ch.Raja Babu 3rd B.A., and Mr.J.Naga Malleswara Rao of 1st B.Se., represented ANU in the All India Inter University Soft ball tournament. In the months of December 2007 and January 2008 the Department of Physical Education Organized the Intramural Games and Sports for both boys and girls Other Activities: 35. The Department of History organized Historical Tour to Srisailam, Nagarjuna Konda and Kotappa Konda to the B.A. students on 13th and 14th September, 2007. 36. The Department of Economics has organized Student Seminars for II B.A. students. 37. The Department of Physics is conducting a Certificate Course in ‗Household Electrical Wiring and Home Appliances Maintenance‘ which was inaugurated by Sri Y. Rajagopalarao, Convener of the College on 6.10.2007. 38. The Department of Chemistry conducted a one day workshop on ‗NMR Spectroscopy‘ by Dr. C.V. Nageswararao, Associate Professor, KVR College, Nandigama. 39. Miss. P. Madhuri, a B.Com student of 2006-07 secured 1st rank in the ANUCET in Commerce.

The Department of Telugu organised a Guest Lecture on “Rama Sethu” by Sri G.Sriramchandra Murthy, retired Head, Dept. of History to the I B.Sc. students on 25.7.2008. The Department of Botany organised a student seminar on “Atmosphere” to the II year CBZ (EM) students in July, 2008. The Department of Botany organised a student Seminar on “Hydro sere” to the II year CBZ (TM) students in August, 2008. The Department of Telugu invited the members of “Telugu Basha Samskruti – Chaitanya Yatra” to our college on 2.8.2008 Padmasri Dr.Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Sri Guttikonda Subba Rao and Dr.G.V.Poornachand and Sri Anand, Silican Andhra President, USA enlightened the students on the importance of talking in mother tongue.
