(Chaplain to Her Majesty The Queen, Vicar of St. Mary’s & PCC Chairman) The PCC of St Mary The Virgin Kenton, co-operating with the Incumbent, has the responsibility of promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and mission of The Church, within the parish and more widely. The Church of England has been described as the one institution that exists for the benefit of those outside. Having passed Resolutions A & B under the Priests (Ordination of Women) measure 1992 and in accordance with ‘The TOTAL: 14,051 9,019 London Plan’ the parish is under the episcopal care of the Bishop of Fulham. [As the see of Fulham is currently vacant, the Bishop of Edmonton takes responsibility for Fulham parishes until a new bishop is appointed.] 2 Let it be clear that St Mary’s welcomes everyone and values each person who comes through her doors. Our passion is for souls. We want to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with everyone. We do not feel that the Church of England acting alone can change 2000 years of tradition regarding the priesthood or episcopate by admitting women to either order. Thus, our bishop is one who does not ordain nor would he consecrate women.
