Volume 38 Number 37 November 2, 2014 Dear Eastminster Family, The fullness and richness of worship yesterday will long linger in my mind. From seeing the sanctuary full at 11:15 a.m., to hearing the rich sounds of “Lift High the Cross,” to sensing the commitment as we united our voices in rededicating our sanctuary and ourselves to our God, the day SHARING HIS LIGHT overflowed with the Holy Spirit’s presence. 1 COR. 12 I shared during the sermon that I’m not very good celebrating, but seeing you all, the Body of Christ at Eastminster, pulling together as one to update and upgrade the facilities that have been entrusted to us for the 21st century, even as we are STAFF also moving forward in the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ, brings a smile to my face Dr. Bradley D. Smith and deep joy to my soul. Pastor Energized by that is ours by God’s grace, please contribute financially to enable Christ’s work through Eastminster both now and in 2015. I’m pleased to share Dr. Mark E. Durrett that 100% of our elected Deacons and Elders have already pledged for 2015, and so too have Associate Pastor 300 additional family units. Our capacity to reach beyond ourselves as the Body of Christ is Rev. Lynn A. Grandsire directly influenced by each and every gift that is invested for Kingdom work. For the Body of Associate Pastor Christ to be what it can be, all of us must step up. Dr. James I. St. John As I did Sunday so let me do here: encouraging and challenging each of you to also commit Parish Associate to all, or at least several, of the following over the next three months by… Mr. Croskeys Royall ____ Sharing “Godly Gossip,” telling others of God’s good work in, and through, Eastminster. Director of Children’s Ministries ____ Asking at least one person to join me/us for worship or some other Eastminster opportunity. Mrs. Fredna Lee Director of Music Ministries ____ Participating in worship more regularly and more joyfully. ____ Being more intentional about communing with God through prayer & Scripture. Mrs. Lucy Corley and ____ Serving beyond myself in a way that fits my abilities. Mrs. Anita Poole EDS Co-Directors There is no greater joy for a pastor, or at least for this pastor, than to see men, women and youth responding to the Spirit’s stirring by stepping forward to joyfully follow Jesus Christ.
