Cell: 610-937-2502 • Providence opened up the 2016-17 season at with a two-game Website: Friars.com non conference series with the Robert Morris Colonials. • The Friars fell in both games by a score of 3-2. • On Oct. 8, Cassidy MacPherson scored her first goal of the season as well as her first short-handed tally. • Brooke Boquist scored her first goal of the season and was assisted by Madison Sansone and Arianna Reid. • The Friars outshot the Colonials in both games, 32-21 (Oct. 1) and 32-19 (Oct. 2). • Emily Landry scored her first collegiate goal and Whitney Dove notched her first collegiate point, assisting on the Ladry goal. • Nine different Friars have tallied at least one point in their three games of the 2015-16 season. • Cassidy Carels has recorded four points in three games, registering at least one point in each game of the 2015-16 season. • Madison Myers has played 178:11 minutes in net, recording a .861 save percentage and a 3.37 goals against average.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS... • The Tigers open their first home series with an 0-2-0 record after playing two games at Minnesota State-Mankato. • The Tigers were defeated in both games, 2-1. The Tigers were defeated in ovetime (Sept. 30) and in regulation on Oct. 1. • Both Tiger goals were scored by Senior F/D Caitlin Wallace. • Terra Lanteigne played in net in both games, amassing 65 saves on 69 shots and recorded a a save percentage of .942 and goals against average of 1.95.

THE FRIARS IN IN THE 2015-16 SEASON... • Two Friars earned Hockey East weekly awards during the season. Madison Sansone earned Player of the Week acco- lades (Nov. 19) and Christina Putigna earned Rookie of the Week twice (Nov. 23 and Nov. 30). • Putigna also earned Rookie of the Month honors for the month of November and was eventually named to the Hock- ey East All-Rookie Team, the first Friar to do so since senior Cassidy Carels. • Eight returning Friars earned Hockey East Top Performer honors: Carels, Alanna Serviss, Brooke Boquist, Blair Parent, Sansone, Kate Friesen, Madison Myers, and Putigna. After blanking Maine and #7 Northeastern in the quarterfinals T o t a l 442 213 and semifinals, respectively, the Friars led #9 Boston University, 1-0, in the Hockey East title game until 7.7 remained. In 2010-11, the Friars compiled a team record of 22-12-1, marking the sixth time a Deraney-led squad reached the 20-win plateau. Again, Providence was ranked for much of the season and finished the year ranked No. 10 in the national polls. In 2008-09, Deraney led PC to a 17-16-3 record. The Friars reached the Hockey East Tournament for the seventh consecutive season and defeated Connecticut, 3-0, at Schneider Arena in the first-ever Hockey East quarterfinal game. In 2001-02, Deraney led the Friars to their seventh ECAC Tournament title and their first since 1995. The Friars defeated second-ranked Niagara and fifth-ranked Northeastern to capture the 2002 ECAC Eastern League crown. Providence also posted its 11th 20-win season, finishing 20-13-4. In his first season, 1999-2000, Deraney led the Friars to their 10th 20-win season with a 20-10-3 mark. Deraney’s first season saw many high points, including an eight-game unbeaten streak, a road victory over No. 1-ranked Harvard and a shutout win over eventual national champion, the University of Minnesota. The Friars later reached the ECAC playoffs for the 17th consecutive year. The squad traveled to Dartmouth for the ECAC quarterfinals, and after 85 minutes of scoreless play, the Friars’ season came to an end, as they fell to the Big Green, 1-0, in double overtime. Before arriving on Smith Hill, the Boston University alum had extensive college hockey experience. As a goaltender, he played for some of Head Coach Jack Parker’s greatest Terrier teams. In 1984-85, Deraney was named Deraney vs. All Opponents Most Improved Player on the squad and, during the season, he helped lead the team to a Team Record PCT 24-14-4 record and a second-place finish in Hockey East. The following year, 1985-86, was Bemidji State 1-2-1 .375 the most successful during his time at BU. The Terriers captured the Beanpot and Hockey Boston College 26-29-3 .448 East titles with a 25-14-4 record, and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the second Boston University 11-24-2 .305 time in three years.
