Au passage nous profiterons des curiosités de la presqu'île (murs des écrivains, des Lyonnais, place des Terreaux, l'hôtel de ville, l’Opéra). A mi-parcours nous ferons le tour du parc de la Tête d'Or. Consultez, si 8 Parc de la Tête d'Or besoin, la liste des 31 lyonnais célèbres du mur. Elle est affichée en bas. Si N 45.776635° / E 4.844462° - alt. 174m - km 7.82 l’on se retourne, à l’opposé, à l’angle de la Rue Pareille et de la Rue de la Martinière, il y a un autre mur en trompe-l’œil, beaucoup plus discret. 9 Voie sur berge du Rhône N 45.777058° / E 4.843668° - alt. 168m - km 7.9 Nous quittons les quais de Saône pour remonter, vers l’Est, la Rue La 10 L'hôtel Dieu Martinière qui mène aux Lycées de La Martinière, œuvre de M. Martin. N 45.758396° / E 4.840154° - alt. 165m - km 10.04 Remarquez la façade du Lycée de la Martinière. Nous repartons à droite au Sud (Rue Lanterne), puis à gauche à l’Est (Rue D/A Place Bellecour N 45.757898° / E 4.832118° - alt. 174m - km 10.92 d’Algérie), pour gagner la Place des Terreaux (4). Cette place est bordée : - au Sud par le Palais Saint-Pierre ou Musée des beaux-arts, - au Nord, au centre de la place, par une fontaine représentant la Garonne réalisée par Bartholdi. Nous quittons la place des Terreaux par la droite, Nord-Est, et par la Rue Puits Gaillot, pour parvenir sur la Place Louis Pradel, face à l’Opéra, dit, "Opéra Nouvel" (5). Nous traversons la place Louis Pradel, toujours vers l’Est, où nous pouvons admirer quelques œuvres modernes. Copie, vente et diffusion interdites - y5ObfnRD 1 Lyon - De la place Bellecour au Parc de la Tête d'Or Nous traversons le Rhône sur le Pont Morand (6) pour arriver au Square Lyautey. Nous y trouvons la fontaine "Morand". Nous poursuivons, à gauche, vers le cours Roosevelt puis à droite la rue Tronchet. Coupons l'Avenue Maréchal Foch et prenons à gauche, la rue Vendôme. Nous passons devant la statue de Jeanne d’Arc et l‘église de Puvis de Chavannes (7). Nous poursuivons, plein Nord, par la Rue Vendôme puis à droite l'Avenue de Grande-Bretagne pour arriver Place Général Leclerc à l'entrée du Parc de la Tête d’Or(8). Nous faisons le tour du parc à droite par la grande boucle, en profitant de la roseraie, du parc zoologique, du jardin botanique. Nous ressortons du parc par l’entrée que nous avons empruntée, traversons l'Avenue de Grande-Bretagne et descendons sur les berges.(9) Nous sommes très vigilants à rester sur la piste piétonnière (à droite), et non sur la piste cyclable (à gauche), ce qui n’est pas indiqué sur place. Nous descendons, ainsi, à gauche au Sud jusqu’au pont de la Guillotière. Au passage, nous pouvons admirer sur la rive opposée, l’Hôtel Dieu (10). Nous remontons de la voie sur Berge sur le quai Victor Augagnier pour retraverser le Rhône à droite par le Pont de la Guillotière, et emprunter tout droit la Rue de la Barre pour rejoindre notre point de départ (A). Informations pratiques Pour le ravitaillement, en cours de chemin, on préfèrera les pots d'eau à ceux de beaujolais qui peuvent nuire à la rectitude de la marche. Cette balade dans Lyon est idéale à faire un dimanche ou un jour férié, lorsqu'il y a peu de voitures. A l'automne, le parc est magnifique. Il faut compter du temps en plus pour admirer les fresques, les monuments, le parc... Personnellement, lorsque je fais cette balade, temps de pique-nique inclus, je mets environ de 5 à 5 heures 1/2. A proximité Au cours de cette balade nous voyons : - La statue de Saint Exupéry. Elle n’est là que depuis l'an 2000, centenaire de la naissance, à Lyon, de Saint Exupéry. C’est une très jolie statue. Nous pouvons y lire des citations extraites de l’œuvre de Saint Exupéry : https://www.lyon-france.com/Je-decouvre-... - Les quais de Saône. - La fresque des écrivains lyonnais où figurent, environ, 300 écrivains lyonnais et quelques extraits de leurs textes : Frédéric Dard, Louis Calaferte, Louise Labé, le Petit Prince : https://www.lyon.fr/ - La fresque des lyonnais : sur deux façades, sont reproduites 31 célébrités lyonnaises - Le Lycée de la Martinière - La Place des Terreaux, avec sa fontainere représentant la Garonne et réalisée par Bartholdi. Commandée par le conseil municipal de Bordeaux, cet ensemble dénommé «Char triomphal de la Garonne» représentait la Garonne et ses 4 affluents se jetant dans l'océan. Le monument, devenu trop cher pour Bordeaux, fut racheté par le maire de Lyon (apparemment plus fortuné). La place est réaménagée en 1994, afin de construire le parc de stationnement souterrain des Terreaux. La fontaine, initialement située en face de l'hôtel de ville, a été déplacée à son emplacement actuel à l'Est. L’Hôtel de ville, qui est aujourd'hui l'un des monuments les plus remarquables de Lyon fut détruit en partie en 1674 par un incendie. Le bâtiment a été complètement rénové sous le Second Empire : https://www.lyon.fr/ - L'Hôtel de Ville : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%B4tel... - L'Opéra, dont les premiers travaux ont débuté en 1989 et ont été achevés en 1993. L'opéra comprend 18 étages, le sommet se trouve à 42m du sol. L'extérieur du bâtiment fut très critiqué, notamment à cause de la verrière au sommet du bâtiment. - La Place Louis Pradel et ses statues - La Fontaine de Morand, élevée à la demande des habitants pour remercier Napoléon III d’avoir supprimé les péages sur le Rhône. - La statue de Jeanne d'Arc - L'église Puvis de Chavanne. Église gothique construite en 1868. Longue de 62m, large de 28 et haute de 32 sous la nef. La flèche, initialement prévue ne fut jamais réalisée suite à l’effondrement du second empire. - Le Parc de la Tête d'Or - Les quais du Rhône - L'Hôtel Dieu. C’est l'un des plus grands bâtiments de la presqu'île. Les plus vieux corps du bâtiment datent de 1184. SOME ADVICE BEFORE YOU LEAVE: For cozy comfort at the Festival of Lights: as you can well imagine, it’s cold in winter in Lyon, and you’ll often have to stand in place. To cope with possible bad weather and cover lots of kilometers, forget about being a fashion plate: put on your earmuffs, parka, mittens and gloves and, above all, trade your high-heels for a pair of all-terrain boots! For a Festival of Lights without stress: prefer Sunday, December 7, and Monday, December 8, for an easier flow, especially if your children are with you on this excursion. For a traditional Festival of Lights: if you are a resident of Lyon, put candles in the windows of your home, your workplace and your school on Monday, December 8, to perpetuate this Lyon tradition.
